no more jumpseats for SWA

It is unbelievable that anybody would use the jumpseat as a means to "punish" another pilot for something a "reporter" wrote. These so called "reporters" have one mission- sell as many newspapers as possible to raise advertising revenue. There is no honor amongst them. How many articles have you read over the years that are blatantly false. I'd take Captain Hefner's word over a newspaper skank anytime.
Everybody is welcome on my jumpseat all the time, any time (CASS is a good thing).
The one thing we do have left as pilots in these days of the rape, pillage, and plunder of our profession is HONOR. WE still control that.

Grow the **** up, you guys. Times must be too goodfor some of us to use the J as a battle ground. Unbelievable.

I would agree that the j/s is something not to be taken lightly. However, in the past couple of months you have this statement by Hefner. Sure the SWAPA MEC chair was doing all the backpeddaling he could, we have not seen a lawsuit filed by SWAPA or Hefner in regards to these conversations with the reporter. The lack of results leads me to believe that this report has more credibility than not.

You combine Hefner's comments with those in the web blog by the SWA pilot that posted photos in sterile cockpit areas, blasted my carrier and suggested that we should "just go away".

Finally, one of our pilots said he was denied a jumpseat on a SWA flight for no reason other than he worked for my carrier.

Those three incidents are enough for me to believe the SWA pilots are not in need of offline transportation. They have the diplomacy skills of the Bush Whitehouse. Once SWAPA fully addresses these issues then I would consider offering my cockpit to a SWA pilot.

Any more personal comments will result in time off the boards. Keep the discussion about the jumpseat and WN pilots and leave the other stuff out.
