NO IFE on domestic A/C

I can't believe that in 2 days we have a 10-page thread on IFE!!!

People on here probably gave this decision more thought than Tempe. Someone say, hey, boss, we can save $10M by removing the movies.

OH, I just thought of this. How are those senior mommas gonna feel about doing the live safety demo!!!! I guess they figured since you'll have less work to do once they start selling sodas, they need to make it up having you do the safety demo.

From what I have observed from working many transcon flights there are few takers for headsets(many using their own headsets for free).

I have also observed that many watch their own stuff on DVD players or iPods, read or look at the pretty pictures in magazines and best of all sleep.

Many people have adjusted to BOB by bringing their own stuff to eat-entertainment is the same.

What little revenue generated would seem to me, negligible. Having movies on red eyes is a complete waste of money.

You've got serious issues...are you in therapy? If I was so consumed of hatred for a company and spent hours upon hours of my life spewing venom about it on an anonymous message board, I would really consider therapy or maybe just maybe....getting a life !!

I would love to know how you think US can even come close to running an operation like WN. Tempe tries so hard to be like them, but not be like them. You can't do it. You can't copy just part of a culture. WN's business model includes a culture. And you can't save an airline by cutting out movies to save $10M while nickel and diming your customers to death. Team Tempe is setting themselves up for failure--they will blame oil prices, but in reality it will be their own half thought out poor planning that did the airline in.

Yes, Singleflyer, you are correct.

HOWEVER there's a big difference between taking delivery of new aircraft without IFE while waiting for a new system and actively REMOVING existing systems for no good reason.

It wastes manpower, money, and just cheapens the overall product that much more.

Isn't cheapening the overall product the key point of Tempe's business plan? That's what's been going on since the day they turned the lights out in CCY, regardless of the price of fuel or the color of the ink on the balance sheet.

Somebody ought to start a campaign to have the Speedbird removed from the heritage logo, to get rid of the PI A319 and to dismantle the PI display at CHQ (and other locations).

Tom Davis is turning over in his grave to have his airline's proud legacy associated in any way with the likes of this POS. It's a disgrace. It was bad enough what AL did to PI. Now this?
