As far as great service....you certainly don't see that on US so if US is comparable to your restaurant, it must suck.

Hey, quick, lets find a restaurant.com message board that we can transfer you to.....
Fluf, does your restaurant have its own forum?

Wendy's...funny

i have no idea what you're talking about. but, it's the owner of the restaurant that i've been going to for over 12 years that gives me freebies without asking. in fact, she almost called my house the other day because I had not been in and was worried something had happened to me. US on the other hand doesn't care that tens of thousands of dollars walked out the door as long as they have people wanting to pay $2 for a soda.

Not comparing the restaurant to LCC...we provide our repeat customers to a "choice" table and top server...not just a free coke and their order is "expedited for their dining pleasure. ...hehehe. Our best clients get a top of the line bottle of wine of their choice at special functions and that comes right out of my pocket...and gee, I could have been getting away with a soda...what a fool I am. Why is your place so cheap...don't answer that.

Anyway, have you tried the Burger King value meal....maybe you can weezel a free coke there. Don't forget to ask for catchup before you leave the window....408 cutomers tonight and one free coke....just think who much better it would be throwing in that coke.

This has been fun US1, I have more important things to do like closing out the computers then worrying about how terrible it is of LCC to charge for something 98% of cutomers in any business charge for. Went golfing today, stopped by the Pro shop...got a COKE, wasn't free...and I go there three or four times a week......hmmmmm. But I get a nice Tee time usually. Gotta go sir...have to hit the GOLDEN key on the computer....how much did me make tonight...WOW. And only ONE free Coke!!

Remember BK stays open until 2:00 AM

It's been real!

Wish it did then we could rant about all the cheap flyers on the airlines.....they think jet fuel is the same price as it was two years ago!!

oh well..I'm not even in the indusrty anymore and can understand that! Left and never been happier...

That's great that you went from slinging cokes in the air to slinging them on the ground. Congrats. Seems like US did provide you with transferable skills. You must be proud.

$150 a meal and you won't give a 30 cent Coke away? I hate to be your Kids at Christmas time!

Funny, there is a restaurant around me that i go to every week. And my party never gets charged for its non-alcoholic drinks...it is sort of their gesture of saying, thank you for being such a loyal customer...and I certainly spent a lot more on US than I do at that restaurant.
And if you maintain your proper place up front you've got it.

I thought you spent a lot more time on CO & WN?

Please show us "coke slinging" employees your receipt that your company paid for so we can appreciate you for calling us "coke slinging" employees.

I hate to say this but you are beginning to sound more and more like a LAS WN PAX-going home.

Cheers.

What would you expect from "coke slinging douche bags"?

You would be foolish to spend more time on US instead of your favorite restaurant.

You would not be suggesting that you are foolish?

So you didnt get Free upgrades, no charge to move to earlier flights, extra baggage allowances, a seperate line to not have to stand with the masses, preboarding, a special phone line, etc? And to think what would make you happy now would be a free coke!!!!!  Guess Tempe can implement plan #3 now with further cuts.
Sounds to me like that restaurant you frequent so much better start coughing up free appetizers, desserts, etc too.

Never didn't "sling" cokes my friend...I choose to leave the LEFT seat after 23 years. Didn't want involved with the class of customers anymore. My industry now doesn't mind paying big bucks for the product and they do realize when we increase prices it's due to the basic cost of doing business and they never look for a FREE handout! I invested 2.51 million dollars in the business and now enjoy giving "Professional" people an outstanding evening. The left seat was nice but I never have to worry about cheap customers again looking for a freebie....I NEVER ride coach when I travel but if I did...I would have no problem paying a buck or two for a drink. I realize being in business that things and the way of doing business has changed 10 fold.

Gotta go...Tee time is near!

How true tadjr...doen't take much to make some people happy. I will never let my customer run my business. I guess I will go to Best Buy today and see what I can get for free today...

Europeans have seen all this ahead of us. US is following the Ryanair model. If you want to know next what US is going to charge for, look at Ryanair.

I agree. I don't have a problem with paying $2 for a drink if I want it. But US's business model is flawed for 2 reasons:

1) A lot of business travelers DO have a problem with paying $1,200 for a walkup fare, and still having to plunk down $2 for a coke. It is not unreasonable to "expect" comped non-alcoholic beverages at that price point.

2) US is the only "major" carrier which is charging for beverages. And while they have every right to charge for whatever they want, this factor puts them at a competitive disadvantage, and some (not all) customers will book away because of this, if everything else is equal.

I think that US could improve their sales if they offered "combos" - You get the drink for $1 with the purchase a meal or snack box! Better yet......just sell the beverages for $1! I'll bet they'd more than double their sales.

US is going to drastically lower their top fares? That's good to hear!

The real problem is; the airline lost customers like me who would have been charged $1,000.00 for a walk up one way fare. So explain how US is further ahead in this policy. To me they lost money. $1,000.00 - 320.00 = $680.00 Break even fare of $0.15 X 2000 miles + $300.00 so they lost $380.00 in revenue by selling my seat to a lower yield customer. If it was sold to a loss leader customer the loss would have been greater

If the seats are full, the airline lost nobody. I think your seat went for the booking price...if not maybe you should figure out how to be that 'lower yield customer' who buys soda and complains less! Thus making for a more enjoyable flight!
