I like OMA, Omaha...

It is a decent sized market, with multiple Fortune 500 HQ's there, not to mention US Strategic Command based at Offutt AFB, multiple universities, and strong business travel.

It has been a good market for United, so there is a strong base to build from if a UA code is shown upon a flight(s). Airport fees and costs are low, and Eppely (OMA) keeps topping record traffic with continued growth.

It is well within the useable range of the E-170 from either CLT or PHL or DCA.

Seems like a good prospect...

It might be a stretch but VER (Veracruz Mexico) has very limited air service and high fares. An A319 would be a better choice if it could be filled, reasonable fares might do it.
I believe the only domestic service is from Continental, they fly one RJ flight a day from Houston.

Western/Eastern Caribbean from Ft. Lauderdale, which could become a new Caribbean/Latin American focus city using EMB-170/175 and A320 aircraft.

Ft. Lauderdale is also Embraer's U.S. point-of-entry/headquarters and an excellent alternative to Miami.

Respectfully,

Newburgh, NY has high weekday fares and only 3 DASH-8 flights a day, which are very full. Need 2 a day to CLT.

Drop the E145's Mesa currently flies from DCA-HSV. Always full of Military/contractors, get back some of the loads that Comair carries on the same route using their CRJ's

True, but a year or two back, US did run PIT-OMA and dropped it due to weak loads.

How about bringing back the former PI "Florida Shuttle" concept using the E-170 using FLL as the hub!

Actually the shuttle was based in MIA. And the 170 would not be cost effective to run to the caribbean they are not EOW planes and it would I hardly doubt someone would want to fly on a 72 seat all coach airplane when they go drive 60 miles and fly on real planes and widebodies of other airlines out of MIA.

New route ideas? Your kidding right. Haven't you been reading this message board. The IAM and CWA are going to "Shut Down" this airline.

New route ideas. You've got to be kidding.

Last time I checked Management shuts down an airline, not the IAM or CWA.

Go flame someone else. Tell the truth.

You are mistaken, the unions cannot shut down the airline. Management, creditors and the courts just might though. The union workers have given and given only to see what the gave squandered.

You have to ask, at what point do you say, enough is enough? For some it was a while back and for some Now seems to be the time.

It's a game of semantics. You know that. Management shuts down the airline because they can't pay the bills because they can't get concessions from IAM because IAM won't talk to management because management sent IAM's overhaul work to Alabama...

And so it goes.

Havent they already gotten hundreds of millions in concessions from the IAM. They have squandered that, stole there in house maintenance work and are now begging for more money and jobs.

and so it goes________ Until the workers say enough is enough.

And who's fault is it?

Why would you talk to a company that can't honor its existing agreements?

It seems you're both missing the point. The company will be shut down because it's inefficiently run and mismanaged. IAM not coming to the table does nothing more than move the final date up a bit (and probably not much, at that).

To borrow the overused Titanic analogies, it's as if IAM refuses to turn on the bilge pump because their pissed at the Captain. Either way, the ship goes down, so focusing on the bilge pump switch misses the point.
