I know this has been rumored for a while but what about CLT to CDG? Also, anyone think that South America is something US is looking at out of CLT? Places like LIM, EZE, SCL, GIG, GRU, CCS???
LY already flies to LAX 3x a week, and one of Continental's TLV flights originates in LAX
And for whatever reason, those two groups are pretty price insensitive...
How about naples,no non stop service exists and many from naples settled in the northeast. Also nice in france, service to the french riviera, and prague.Just some future places I would like to non rev to!
I thought that red-eyes only work from West to East?
The Tel Aviv departure will be at 9:15 p.m., with arrival at 3:15 p.m., Tel Aviv time, the following day. The return flight will leave Tel Aviv at 11:50 p.m. and arrive in Philadelphia at 5:10 a.m. (Philadelphia time) the following day. Return service is scheduled to begin July 3.

Is that an alert or a warning?Just FYI, the 330 RT to SJU returns in either Sept or Oct, daily.
The reason is because those two groups are made up of people with very high income levels.
Let's just say that US-TLV is not your typical leisure travel crowd. There are probably more Hadassah Ladies flying to TLV than any route other than PBI!
Copenhagen and Budapest would be my choices as a customer. Don't know if you could make any money on those routes?

I don't know everything about flight scheduling, but wouldn't it make sense to schedule it like this:
Depart PHL 3:15 pm..........Arrive TLV 9:15 am
Depart TLV 11:15 am........Arrive PHL 4:35 pm
That schedule would allow the returning A330 to fly a shorter overnight flight like London, Dublin or Paris, returning to PHL in time the next day to fly TLV. That would keep the A330s working more and would obviate the need to find a short daytime flight to fill the few hours during the day.
Doesn't CO have several banks for their flights to Europe and beyond? Next time I fly out of there I'll look the board over. If US expects just to use the gates for 1 flight a day, the city ought to be upset about that and give them to airlines that can utilize them a lot better. Having multiple banks makes sense even more than just have one big bank.I don't know everything about flight scheduling either, but it appears that US might be copying some of the things UA does with their IAD hub (Maybe CO does this at EWR too but I haven't looked). Which is having major intercontinental connections flowing through every hub bank. US has that in the afternoon and evening but the morning is all domestic. This arrival allows for international connections to flow over departing PHL flights that previously did not have such traffic, and also thus won't displace connecting flow from Europe in the afternoon. I *think* this schedule also allows for TLV-PHL-Caribbean connections fairly easily, which the late afternoon does not. I'm guessing US decided to go with trying to diversify their revenue across multiple PHL banks over ideal flight scheduling.
