What were the Follkers promised to do?

For starters it did not meet its range and fuel burn targets. Then of course there were the reliability issues it had early on. Notice how AA has not taken delivery of a new type aircraft until it has been in service a couple years with other airlines.

As for the Fokkers I believe it was promised to provide airline mechanics with unlimited overtime.
