Looks like the A350 is it

AND I heard a rumbling today about BOB (Buy On Board) for our 'Economy Class' service...SWEET!!!!
Just when I thought we couldn't sink any LOWER!!!!

Senior management recently told the ALPA MEC that US Airways will obtain A340's in the fall. Apparently, the company is evaluating aircraft currently being operated by Air Canada and Singapore Airlines.

Yes, and the A340's will be 6 Envoy and 433 coach, with 29 in pitch.
The lavs will have a coin slot and vending machines will be on board for food.

Perhaps it is true -- Airbus Standing Room Only Seats!!!

http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/04/now_we_know_why.php

"Airbus has been quietly pitching the standing-room-only option to Asian carriers, though none have agreed to it yet. Passengers in the standing section would be propped against a padded backboard, held in place with a harness, according to experts who have seen a proposal."

Correction to the NY Times: May 4, 2006

A front-page article on April 25 about seating options that airlines are considering to accommodate more passengers in economy class referred incorrectly to the concept of carrying passengers standing up with harnesses holding them in position. During preparation of the article, The Times's questions to one aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, were imprecise and did not make it clear that the reporter was interested in standing-room "seats." As a result, the article said the company would not specifically comment on the upright-seating proposal. The company now says that while it researched that idea in 2003, it has since abandoned it. A correction of the article appeared on this page on Tuesday. It should have acknowledged that if The Times had correctly understood the history of the proposal, the article would have qualified it, and would not have appeared on Page A1.

Yeah, My Dam $3.00 bag of Potato Chips didn't drop, they got hung up. :(

How much for a cup of ice?

Will this be automated so that we can order from our seat? Probably not, not cost efficent. Thats what the "Waitresses", oh I mean Flight Attendants are for.

Are A330-200s still coming? If so when?
Good question. Currently the 332s are scheduled for phased deliveries in 2009 and 2010. However, US may have negotiated a change as part of an overall new contract with Airbus for the A350XWB. This could possibly include a few accelerated early 332 deliveries - particularly since Airbus is increasing production of this aircraft. It could also include assistance with the acquisition of A340s internally, through Air Canada, or elsewhere. This of course assumes US has actually selected the 350 instead of the 787. We could hear the decision and any details at the April 26th Conference Call to Analysts.

no, his new job is to set up google and yahoo alerts and anytime anything with " US Airways" hits the web it goes to his e-mail so he can rush right here and post it like it is important or something. A job he promoted himself to.

US only has a LOU for the A350, no definate purchase agreement.
I assume you are referring to the original A350. If so, you are incorrect, US Airways (post merger) has a formal "Purchase Agreement" with Airbus for (20) A350 aircraft. Obviously there is no known contract (yet) for the A350XWB.
