Checked the schedule for January and down to a single daily 772 turn-no more 763s rest of the flights are 32S and 738. I know there is a key cargo client that ships Lobster to Shanghai which the current schedule facilitates. Still pretty unfortunate considering throughout 2012 (and into 2013) there were 3 772s and a couple 763s in the mix.

It might have to do with paint. The company put out in the Jetnet that all wide bodies will be done by summer 2015, 763s are in retro, and 772s are in retro. Probably taking advantage of slower traffic in winter to get work done.

Kind of a normal thing to wind down widebody ops between overhauls and crew vacation slots...

Would be great to have the 763/772 on redeyes. Back in 2012 AA 276 was a 763 for sometime but not recently. Also was a time in 2008-2009 when AA 192 (LAX-BOS) redeye was a 763. Are 763 B-checks still done overnight at LAX?

nonsense.

AA is reducing capacity to force fares up in a market where they control the majority of the capacity.

All that will end up happening is that another carrier will be abDLe to add additional capacity.

If you even close to think your answer is accurate, give us a history of AA's widebody capacity in the MIA-LAX market for the past 5 years.

Did AA employees not get vacation or AA didn't do overhauls before?

I guess the might DL never changes equipment in their markets.

You couldn't know less of what you speak. It has everything to do with Heavy Checks, Retrofits and Painting. Again whqat is the point of you adding your 2 cents to every post? MOds do something about this troll!

I don't think anyone realizes only DL does heavy maintenance and painting during flight

See when DL rebranded and merger with NW they clicked their red slippers and all planes were painted overnight

It's called forum domination.  Just like DL is without question the dominant airline in every market, WT is the dominant poster on every thread. :D

I'm sure WT can write a 5000 word post about a made-up metric that shows how superior (in every aspect) the DL+NW re-branding was compared to UA+CO and AA+US. :D

WT, there is a lot more vacation time in the fall, winter and spring than at the peak in the summer. I would assume overhauls would follow the same pattern.
