ThanksThe IAM petitioned the NMB to declare single carrier status....for union purposes only. The IBT filed an objection because the IBT does not feel that the terms for single carrier status have been met by the company.
As far as I know, this single carrier status (union purposes only) has NOTHING to do with a single operating certificate.
Or maybe I just don't understand your question. :unsure:
Victory for the IBT at this stage is simply to achieve an election.
I still say..if you vote either in...you have voted for no change...there is no way either union in this day and age can protect you. You are a comodity..to be sold ,traded, or even worse..just screwed, for you your dues. Just remember...power in numbers= more dues. Oh and dont forget..the old union escape clause.."you voted for it".

There are over 6,000 US M&R including laid-off members, add the 850 HP M&R and you have almost 7,000.
I believe that the determination has yet to be made as to whether or not all the furloughed members will have a vote based on some clause about a reasonable expectation of returning to work.

Again, I believe that single carrier status has NOT yet been granted, thus no call for an election. When that is granted, I believe an election will be called for.
