Mechanic and Related Transition Update

Just one question. Why? Why does fleet have to have a T/A first? Is it written in stone somewhere that fleet has to reach a deal before anyone else?
Its not that I don't want a fair deal I just don't understand why we have to be first. Can someone please explain this to me. Looking for a honest facts and an answer. 700 do you know?
In good times [see $1 billion in profits over the past 2 years] the company comes to fleet first and offers crumbs. Prior years, fleet's disorganization would have already accepted the crumbs. Then they give the mechanics more, and the pilots even more. In bad times, the pilots go first, then the company goes to the other groups and tells the others to take what the pilots took.

There's a reason why fleet goes first. Fleet used to accept the crumbs then complain why the pilots and mechanics got more. This time, Fleet isn't settling for crumbs.

Well Ron does'nt seem so bad, it's AL H. that really seems to be stalling this. He has the thought that if 'they' don't get what they want; all else it a huge problem. Billions of dollars in give backs over 2 bankrupt contracts still does'nt seem enough; in AL's mind....

Company has over 3 billion in the bank and they are still worried about money...!!

They can invest in this or that and the other thing but not it's most important asset; THE MEMBERSHIP..

Oh let's make our planes real nice and lets amke sure the food tastes a little better plus...let's take care of our customers; is the words that come out of DOUG's mouth. Never I think my employees deserve to paid industry standard or even close. But thank you all so very much; the 36,000 hardworking employees that make up this great US Airways team....

Not membership -- EMPLOYEES. Invest in the people of this airline, not the union.
 
We should not give up the Section 6 in 09 to get an agreement - if they want to roll us under the IAM contract then fine - But make sure the Airbus heavy checks come back in house the SAME day. We should not give up scope, we should not give them what they want to get an agreement. Screw them - SECTION 6 in 09

Yeah but look how long these T/A talks have been going on. You think sec 6 will go any faster? You must be from the East.

I would say In/Out sourcing is a major issue. I think this CO. wants to have a very small headcount in MX & Rlt'd.

I Will Add the Correct, Date For a Minor Correction, Its More REAL. Jan 2010.So Yes Two More Year's With No More Pay Raise's & They Can Still Out Source all AWA Aircraft Till They Bridge the AWA Airbus's. :angry:
 
The negociations can begin in June of 09 - the amendable date is Jan 2010 - So why give them what they want when it seems like either the transition agreement or if they roll us we are giving up benefits. Why hand Parker his "0" cost or contract reductions on a silver platter. As it stands they have to deal with a united mechanics & related in 09, they need to see that is not a threat but a reality.

I have to set back and laugh at the east as you think all of us in the west are all young first time airline employees and this is our first ride.....(as you think Cowboys) Well you need to get a grip WE WALKED OUT TO GET A CONTRACT>>>>> What have you done for yours?????? And before 700 gets in there, Under contract you can't as we in the west did to get a contract 2 weeks later.( AND IF WE HAD VOTED IN THE TEAMSTERS! WE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN SEC 6 NOW AND BEEN ABLE TO WALK AGAIN...( IF RELEASED) HAVE A NICE DAY DA's........................................................

Why DIDN'T The IBT TEAMSTER'S File SEC 6? They Had Three Year's? It Would Be Nice To Hear From Andy & The Previous Negotiator's. :shock: WHY YOU ALL DID NOT FILE SEC 6?. Talked to Linda Puchala NMB Facilitator, She Said WE Could File Sec 6 for the WEST MX & Related,But that The Company, WIll Not Negotiate with JUST THE WEST. They Want All Or Nothing :up:

The IBT and HP were in Section 6 Negotiations and the company broke off the talks and the IBT did nothing about it.

NO THE IBT NEVER FILED SEC 6 Paper Work that's what is Being TOLD to THE CURRENT Neg's Team.
