I am booked next week in first class on the phl-lax fligth which leaves at 8 pm they list the meal as a snack in First Class??? what can i expect???? Also what can i expect on the return in first on the redeye leaving lax at 10pm.

Thanks in advance!!!!!! All the US employees do a great job!!!!!!!

Well It's not quite as bad as Vote no said. The usual meal lately is the roast beef or turkey sandwich! One or the other they don't load both. It comes with some patato salad or fresh fruit usually. There is a cookie or snack too IIRC.

It is what it is. The turkey is better than the beef and both are only OK. The snacks are good and booze is free and remember the more you drink the better dinner will taste.
Wait, that's the meal on a first class transcon?! I'd need three.

I think Piney is being rather tacktful and kind....I hope. First class meals really suck. (The snack meal, at least). It is embarrassing to even serve them. Turkey is by far better looking than the roast beef. Lately, they have been serving them on a croissant. At a glance, sometimes it is hard to tell if it is potato salad or macoroni salad. I have thrown more away, than has been eaten.

I strongly suggest bringing your own food or getting something before hand at the airport if you find yourself hungry.

Booze is free, and a good F/A would make sure that the FC gets their fair desire.

I have had many FC customers wanting coach meals that we sell. What does that tell you????

Thanks for flying with us SkiUtah...wish we had something better to offer.

Good advice. Those mystery meat sandwhiches are not very tasty.

Recent flight I was on, first class service seemed to be a basket with a choice of chips or pretzels... whoa.

Despite my avatar, I don't drink, so there goes making up for the differential in booze.

Airlines should simply eliminate food service, period, IMHO.

Is eveyone sure that it will be a sandwich on a transcontinental flight that is on time 20% of the time and usually takes over 6 hours??????

On united or any other airline that i usually fly, i would be served a full meal(steak) on the westbound flight at least. I dont expect a full meal and i would accept a sandwich on the redeye all the airlines do that, but the flight leaves phl at 5PM LA time (Dinner Time)!!!!!! My company paid 1800 for this ticket. My co-worker said he thought a cold pasta dish was offered on the westbound flight? Usair cost cuts are in the wrong places. Unbelievable and dissapointing.

Good Lord!!

If you're that concerned over what 's for Dinner then do yourself a favor and bring food or buy your own! Why would you depend on what the airline may or may not be serving for your own nourishment for 6-8 hours? (Factoring in possible delay time). Better question is Why would you even want to depend on airline Food for Dinner? What have you ever eaten on a plane and then said to yourself later, "MMMMMM...wish there was a US Airways Take out Drive-Thru window nearby..."

The only thing I ever count on in First are a few cocktails. So buy your Nathan's Hot Dog, Auntie Anne's Cinnamon Pretzel (Love those...) or Sbarro Personal Pizza and have a blast!

Yet another faulty assumption.

You really should read more carefully.
:D Those wacky assumptions are so annoying, aren't they? YMMV, of course! :D

SkiUtah -- Take your food onto the aircraft, don't eat that stuff, eck!

You're willing to pay $1,800 for a "cold pasta dish?"

I'll sell you one for only $1,700.

(And really, is there a diff between a cold pasta dish and a cold turkey or roast beef sandwich?)

Honestly i love eating on board flights. I fly delta once a month jfk-lax and never get tired of airline food in First class I enjoy it a lot!!!!

I am lucky enought that My company pays for first class travel, and i honestly have more fun dining on the plane then i would eating at the Philadelphia airport by myself.

I am still hoping that a dinner is served instead of a sandwich!!!!!

Its a AIRLINE not a catering service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the love of god pack a sandwich!!!!!!!! :D
