Being in a non-mtc station, I don't understand why the crews are not required to do a walk around on RON A/C. The Express crews do it for both of the operators we have, but mainline never has. Just a few weeks ago I spotted a huge hyd. leak while chocking the mains and reported it to the crew. If I had not done this the flt would have either XCLD or taken a long delay in the morning. As it was mtc. did a road trip and had it ready to go, instead of waiting for the crew to report it in the AM.
