Mailine Express

Dave did this to alot of CAL staions back in 1998 when he was involved with Continental Express. I was one of the people that this happened to. 17years for CAL and I chose not to move from my station and was expressed and the rest had to move to a larger city or a hub to keep CAL wages

yep i can see it now--no more mainline jets in about twenty yrs if us is even still flying by then! it'll be 50 to 76 seater tonka toys jets doing all flying with united doing all the intl flts!!! that appears to be the way these crooked gangster thieves
want it. i'd say why not vote to get rid of the mgmt and install a new group with the likes of gordon bethune or herb keller of swa??????????????????

As of May 1st SRQ will be going from 2 mainline per day to 3 RJ flts a day to CLT...they were told about 2 wks ago.......

Mays flight schedule wouldn't be loaded yet. I believe that marketing is still working on and loading the March schedule.

Given this fact, how did we end up with povery wages and CO Exp. decent ones?
They are Non Union and at last check earned over $15 an hour. Yet we get offered $13, and our Bonehead Union takes the offer. If they would have tossed us $15 it would have made life a whole lot better. There are still many on the System that will someday be in "Sticker Shock" When they open their first Express check.
If he was at CO and established their system and payscale, what happened here???

wings,
The mistake the IAM made is the same mistake all the unions made in not seeing the major impact that regional jets would have on this industry. If we had been smart maybe we would have negotiated the rj's to reamin our work at a lower rate of pay.Maybe even more than CO currently gets. No one even wanted to consider that though, myself included. Once Dave and his boys took us into bankruptcy, any negotiations were in name only. I understand your unhappiness with the Mainline Express classification. I was in CLE until we were downgraded to Mainline Express in June. I just couldn't stay at that rate of pay so I took a transfer to DFW and I commute between DFW and CLE. The whole situation sucks and I don't see it getting any better. Once this company was authorized to 465 RJ's,the writing was on the wall. There won't be a lot of mainline stations left by the time this is all over.

The last time I checked it was not the IAM and its AGCs that ratified the Fleet Service contract.

It was Fleet Service members that did.

Yes, it was the Fleet Service members...The ones in the Big stations that carried the vote knowing that they would not be affected by the $13 outcome.
Do you really think that any small staions voted themselves into a low income job?
The AGC's knew what was going on....How may AGC's work in a small sation????
You got it NONE. They still make a decent wage while living high on the hog with our dues still coming in at the same rate as the Mainline members.

WINGS 396 you are correct small cities where sold down the drain by the greed in phl pit and clt and now those same guys in pit are going to get a taste of there own medicine.

I can only hope so. Many are being pushed down the ladder with senior people coming in from the Expressed stations. As I have said before, productivity by a small station FSA is higher than a Hub anyday. R&D, Cater, Clean, Load, Deice, bagrunner and so on. I will forever feel betrayed by the Union that I thought represented me.
