Mailine Express

The Union lost nothing. They still keep you as a dues paying member, which is all they care about in the first place. Sad part is, a Mainline Express member will pay the same amount as a Mainline member does....Great deal considering that you earn $6 an hour less. In our local they even had the brass to raise our dues after negotiating a poverty level wage for us. Our dues now exceed 3x our hourly rate!!! :down:
 
i guess now that this little outfit that is being torn apart by swa is going to have all of its east coast cities go from mainline to the crappy mainline express with absolute no hope of getting any kind of jet service back unless swa comes in and finishes off the kill!!!!!! it is a shame we have to see such a wonderful company go down this way but what can we do, especially when the gangsters and thieves of ccy dont listen to anyone

There are alot of things the company is allowed to do. Unless there is a contractual limitation, the company is allowed to run itself.

Blaming the Union for not preventing the company from doing something they are allowed to do, is as bad as the company complaining that the union doesn't allow them to run their own company. Neither is true.

But there is something that is absolutely true:
 
The UNION could have prevented the poverty level wages to a certain degree.
They could have attemepted to get a decent wage in the $15+ area. Given that a Non-Union carrier pays that much to their Express employees, it would not have been an unreasonable request. Instead they jumped at the company bait knowing that none of the large stations would care nor be affected by it. The vote went thru and here we are. All that knew they would retain the better wage, sold us down the River.
 
There has been NO announcement of Sarasota going mainline express.

:up: wings you are right sold sold to protect jobs in the big cities but boy when they needed vote to get the union in they drove there cars and took the train
and flew to these small cities to get the cards signed but when you needed them
the most they didnt know these cities ehere on the map.
 
At last look SRQ has 2 Mainline flights a day. This would qualify them, but I think they must get rid of those and Express the station first. In a few months they can bring them back as they have done in CLE, BTV, and soon in AVP & ABE.
I am not sure if they can toss a Seasonal flight on top of that or not.
 
There will be more cities closing.

My station had a vist today from somebody from PIT....Mid Atlantic.

They will use the station i am at for deversions on there proving runs.

They say these NEW AIRPLANES can go from Pit-Dfw..Pit-Iah...Pit-Eyw.

So,with this range what do you think is going to happen.

MORE MAINLINE EXPRESS STATIONS...

AND THE UNION DUES STAY THE SAME.

BUT NOT YOUR PAYCHECK.

WHAT IS NEXT ONLY CCY KNOWS THE ANSWER..MAYBE
