Saw the match on this paystub to our 401(K) account.
I was a bit taken back as they never said anything about doing this.
Bout time they gave us a little something extra.
Speaking for the AMT's.

Yep it is now 5.5% for all employees. So tell all your buds they need to be saving at least that amount in thier 401ks.

I thought the FAs match is now 9.9%
For those closest to retirement age, yes. For much younger FAs, I believe the number is lower.

It's meant to help the FAs make up for the freezing of the pension when their retirement is not far off.

So if you can tuck 5.5% pay into the 401(K) you'll receive a 100% return. And the more you make, O.T. or wage increases, the more applied to this retirement benefit. Congrats.
Curious, on the AA side we were not considered for a match until our Pension was frozen. Can you confirm you still get contributions toward your IAMNPF?

The IAMNPF contributions are a contractual requirement that can't be taken away unless voted on to do so. So if this winds up being correct that the 5.5% match has been applied to ALL LUS employees then that means they're getting both?

sounds like it, i might be going out on a limb here and it may be contractual for LUS but it sounds like we are getting screwed again at LAA. left out again with nothing. Thanx again TWU! spin away twu drones.

IF this winds up being true why do you have to spin it into a negative? We're not in the IAMNPF and if it means the company for some crazy reason has decided to give people both I can only see that as a positive when we go into JCBA talks. Again that's IF this winds up being true?

It could just be an error by payroll in the end?

that kind of does away with the idea they could not give EVERYONE the 4% raise because we have a contract blah blah blah.....not a negative your right 5 years from now when we get a contract we will get the 4% and rainbows and unicorns... keep dreaming chief keep dreaming..

an error at payroll? your good!

Sounds like a future vote to keep the IAM pension in exchange for the 401k match. I smell a IAM strategic maneuver for upcoming jcba. My opinion of course. It's possible that the IAM pension might get frozen in exchange to keep the 401k in the next jcba. Either way the company is not going to throw money out there unless they have a plan. You guys on the us side need to compare the two plans. I doubt both will stay after a jcba.

I agree....I do not see both plans being funded by the company...Then again, since the money that is taken out of the members' pay to fund the IAMPNF is actually the member's money, the company is in fact  only matching the 401k.

I may be wrong. I was unaware that the company negotiated seperate 401k deals with the union work groups. I guess the 5.5% match only applies to non union. This was previously announced sometime last fall and shouldn't be new information.
