love rumors....any truth to this?

delta's 757's do not have the same config's as ours at all. they have overwing exits on thier 757's as ours do not. we have exit doors behind the wings.

And DL's are P&W powered, not RR.

Sounds like a bs thread to me.

Anyone seen A320Pilot?

LOL!!!

I didn't say UA's 757s.
ATA still has some parked post bankruptcy that are RB211 equipped and have the same door configuration. DL is parking some too, same configuration...
Chill, geez.
Where did you see DL is parking 75's? as far as I know they are parking MD88's I know someone REAL close that works for DL

I actually heard from my best friends cousins neices uncle that US is gonna purchase one of the few remaining space shuttles fron NASA and do a Kennedy Space Center to Hong Kong nonstop in 5 minutes flight. All sources are reliable and can be count on. LOL. A thread of speculations is one thing but most are not even educated but the ones disputing the speculations. Are there other things "Possibly" in the works or on the "Burner"? Well I'm sure there are but honestly.......yikes these predictions.... Is Jean Dixon around Helloooo Sylvia. LOL

No, DAL has both versions. The RB211 versions are at Song.
Sounds like you are full of BS to me.

Get a clue a320av8r. Just admit your wrong...and I'll gladely chill on setting the record straight.

757's being operated by US based carriers with the RB211-535 series are as follows.

(1) American Airlines
(2) Continental
(3) USAirways w/combined HP Fleet
(4) North American
(5) Hooters Air (2 Acft)
(6) UPS 50/50 Split
(7) ATA

Pratt and Whitney equipped B757 operators in the US

(1) United
(2) Delta
(3) Northwest
(4) UPS 50/50 Split

Hooters air/Pace might not need those 2 757s for much longer. They sure would look nice in the new livery. ;)

flyingcat,

What are you hearing about Hooters Air / PACE?

I have a few friends whom are Ex-U people there. I'd hate to see them take yet another beating in this industry.

Hooters air has pulled out of a lot markets as soon as the incentives run out. ABE is owed over $1 million and Hooters won't pay up. These are not healthy signs. They are making a lot of small airports mad at them, these smaller airports are a very close circle that takes things personally.

Future of Airline in Question

Hooters may discontinue flights

flyingcat,

Thanks for the links friend !!
My bet is the B757's will remain as a very important part of PACE's Charter services...however the crews and staff in direct support to a portion of the 737's they have , might be looking for other jobs soon.

PACE was doing OK..just OK before they got into bed with the Hooters thing...I suspect that PACE will be OK again by returning to their roots.

Okay. Back to the topic at hand. There are rumors that US is perhaps in the process of acquiring additional aircraft, for what purpose, no one can say.

Regardless of whether or not the rumor is true, additional aircraft are certainly needed to handle the current schedule, let alone new routes. Load factors are pushing into the upper 70's/lower 80's right now, and they need to be in the lower 70's to maintain optimal conditions for business travelers and to keep the overbooking ratio low. From the most recent financial statement, it would appear that US reduced capacity in the neighborhood of 13% last quarter. With ticket prices rising, it would make perfect sense to put that capacity back into the system.

US reduced the fleet size in CH11 with the goal of getting rid of expensive leases and maintenance on the oldest planes in the fleet. With the current market, lease rates are more favorable and newer generation aircraft are hitting the market with NW and DL being in CH11, and United dropping a portion of their fleet prior to exiting CH11. Now is a good time to buy used planes, and US has market timing on their side.
It will certainly be interesting to see if this rumor is true, and what aircraft types are coming into the system.
