Loa 91 - Make Or Break It?

USA320Pilot comments: As a retired military officer I understand Lakefield and his upcoming approach. Therefore, for those who do not want to participate in the going forward plan, Bronner's comments to the unions last week of "we'll do it by ourselves or with you" cannot be any more plain.

Respectfully,

USA320Pilot
I'd like to make certain that I am following your fuzzy logic: You've stated that because you are a retired military officer you're what ??? More capable of understanding Lakefield?

You mean to say that no one except for retired military officers could possibly understand Lakefield's message?

I must be stuck in a very cheesy Twilight Zone episode.

Industry experts say a quick resolution to the labor-cost issue will be necessary for US Airways to stave off asset sales or another bankruptcy. Blaylock & Partners analyst Ray Neidl said in a research note labor cost must come down 25% by summer for US Airways to survive - and even then, he only puts the airline's chance of survival at 50%, because of its corporate culture and the difficulty of operating a hub in the Northeast.
Do you know how many times I have heard this crap since I have been at this airline!

You are spitting in the wind. Bronner with his arrogant attitude will cause the demise of this company. The MAJORITY of people have reached their personal threshold of pain and refuse to submit any more to wealthy arrogant people who don't have a clue what hard times are. Captain, trust me, the IAM, my co-workers are ready for the end, we are not going to be part of Bronners nightmare, he is on his own.

Well put Phoenix. USA320 will keep his left seat and job while others will perish. Taking one for the team seems to be his "battle cry" while he sits in a bunker miles from the front. Savy

Good Evening to All;
First of all allow me to state that I had 28 years at (Mohawk, Allegheny,USAir) as a pilot and retired early in 1995 due to the dire straits this airline was in at the time. I was of the opinion that the airline was on the brink of failure and I wanted to save what retirement benefits I could!
It took many more years than I expected to arrive. But we are all now faced with the fears I had back then!
There are many difficult descisions to be made in the very near future. Believe me ... I have lost a great deal of sleep in the last nine years over whether or not I personally made the right descision! Nine years .... long time to be stressed .. and many more years to come! Think about your descisions carefully!
I watch this Board daily ... and share the emotions that are expessed here! The emotions go beyond the typed words ... they are easily interpreted. A great deal of Hurt ... and an overwhelming sense of Pride!
I am disturbed by the postings of "USA320Pilot" in that he/she has created untold grief and anger in this forum! Everyone responds to the postings of this individual as if it is a FACT that he/she is indeed an active US Airways Pilot. This could be some highly educated student .... a Management "plant", a terminated employee with inside connections ... who knows what??? Biggest problem as I see it is that you ALL respond to his/her posts and get all worked up and lash out at each other! This is not good ... and most of all it is, well ...futile! Ignore this individual unless he/she clearly state their identity! He/She has caused far too much disruption on the US Airways Forum and needs to accept responsibility for the posts.
A final note here. The reason I feel this way is that in my cumulative 32 years in aviation I had to learn to make responsible decisions . A critical factor in this process was to consider all factors in an issue. I do not know if I am expressing myself properly ... but what I want to convey is that in my humble opinion, USA320Pilot does NOT demonstrate that quality. He/She is strictly one-sided, very biased .. and therefore I question the presumed profession of this individual.
Of course this is only my opinion!

I had a great trip to the mountains this fine day with my family. I deposited money in the bank for my company (does UAIR do that?) and wrote out an owner's draw for my wife and I. Good customers. Great week. Production was not good this week, but in the end we did get it all done. I had to grab the "bull by the horns" and manage my employees (does UAIR do that?).

It is getting to get harder and harder to get through the static on these boards. THERE IS LIFE OUTSIDE UAIR!!! I may just come back from leave to prove it. Maybe I will see you all in July. I will be the one smiling! Ed

One of the reasons that is being touted for passing LOA 91 is this. If GECAS pulls it's financing for RJs OUR revenues won't meet projections and US Airways will have to sell assets to meet the POR and ATSB loan covenenants.

US Airways has to produce enough revenue to cover the expenses in the ATSB approved Plan of Reorganization. That POR included SPENDING two (2) BILLION dollars on RJs.

If GECAS pulls out of the deal and we don't buy the RJs don't our EXPENSES DROP BY TWO (2) BILLION DOLLARS? Doesn't that REDUCE our costs as well as the amount of revenue we need to pay our bills?

Think about it!

320pilot, you have not responded to me or others who have asked. It's easy to vote to allow someone else's jobs to be outsourced. How are you going to vote when they come after your job, because they will.

Michael707767,

You know he will not answer you, he is a scared man.

Us IAM mechanic and related members are waiting several months to his false threats about a "painful" clause in our contract.

I believe he needs professional help

tuesday the 1st qtr results come out, most likely causing a downgrade once more to our credit rating....then its bye bye GECAS...so then the letter doesn't matter does it?

700,

You both are hanging from the same piece of rope. As pro-company as 320 is, you are just as anti-company. You will find most of us packed neatly between you two extremes. I don't know if LOA91 will prolong the life of the company any more than I know that failing to pass it will be the last straw. This much is true however. If it fails to pass, there will be consequences. What they are, I have no idea but I do know this: unless you're just tired of working here, why not do what we can to keep it going until we have a chance to TRULY re-structure under new leadership? I've seen quite a few folks lately that can't wait to vote NO...on ANYTHING. I'm afraid that LOA91 may have just gotten in the way of that urge to stand up to the company. How many of our nine lives have we used up at this point? Nobody knows, but with employees that would like nothing better than for the doors to shut, I don't see much hope.

What is the job market like for a guy with a Pol Sci degree anyway?

I am not anti-company, I am anti-management who treats its employees like dung.

You can give your earnings and jobs back to them, but not I!

They can't adhere to two concessionary contracts they agreed to with each labor group and you actually trust them?

I got a bridge for sale in brooklyn, care to buy it?
