Hi Y'all,

Shortly after 9/11, American had really good and very moving TV commercials. I was hoping someone had a link. I had them on my computer, but the hard drive crashed.

Thanks,
D8

The corporate website (www.amrcorp.com) used to carry them in an archive section but I don't think they are keeping them there anymore. Usually, when they unleash a new commercial, they'll put a sample in quicktime format in a news release section of the site.

There is, however, an entire "warehouse" of sorts of AA goodies stored at www.aadams.com which might have what you're looking for. It requires a username and password which you can apply for online. The site carries photos and stories from the airline throughout it's system. There are literally thousands of photos, etc., of employees, functions and more. I'm not sure if it will carry the videos of the commercials but the stills are there.

I still have them (engine - way of life) on my hard drive, and I had a couple of requests to e-mail them, but they are too large for my e-mail system to accept. I tried putting them on Kazaa, but I didn't like all the extra crap (spyware) that came with Kazaa, so I took them down. Each commercial is about 10MB in size. I'm all ears for ways to share them - if anybody's got some ideas.

Use Kazaa Lite, No advertising and no spyware. It's free to download, you can find it on google search.

Okay...here's the deal. I'll reinstall Kazaa or some variation of it tonight. I'll leave it up for one week, then I will take it back down. I'm still rather leery of keeping my PC "open" for any extended period of time, but it's the Christmas season so consider it my gift to those who want it. It most likely won't be ready until about 9:00 p.m. Central time.

I use ICQ. You can then just transfer the file directly to the individual.
Are there size limits on ICQ? The files are a bit over 10MB each.

ICQ is PC to PC, there is no storage of the data in-between. However, at 10MG, I wouldn't even attempt it without DSL.

Sorry folks...I started to download a Kazaa lite program, but not for the $20 they wanted. So I tried downloading Kazaa again and had a real change of heart after they were trying to get me to agree to download a boatload of spyware - just can't justify the hassle of getting rid of the junk once it's done.

Here's a link to some 80's AA theme music and audio commercials. The quality is so-so.

Ah, memories...
All that the current run of ads (the ones with the Booker T. & the MGs theme music) says to me is that AA is the airline of choice for pushy, annoying people that I sure woudn't want to be stuck on a plane with...
