LGA Base Closing?

I totally could see US trying to get more bang for the buck and negotiating for a tri-base of LGA/EWR/JFK -- virtually eliminating all NYC area overnights.

I vote for a NYC tri-base with a domestic 757/767 pilot base at JFK. (Of course I don't have any selfish reasons for this! )

If US Airways was at all interested in maintaining/closing crewbases for the sake of the convenience of crew members, then these would still be crew bases: ATL, ILM, ROA, GSO/INT, TYS, ORF, BWI, SYR, PIT, PIT (it bears repeating), SAN, LAX, SFO...did I miss any?

Does the east operation really need FIVE bases considering our size? I know we have shuttle in LGA but it is majority express. I just don't see how the company justifies FIVE bases for an airline of our size and ALL on the east coast. It's silly and simply shows how antiquated we are just like many other areas of the company. Bad scheduling, planning and staffing everywhere ya look.
