Great article!

Excerpts:

Cap and Trade, “Healthcare Reform,†a new Supreme Court Justice. The Democrats have control of Congress and the White House. Americans gave it to them. Very often it feels as if liberalism is all the rage in the United States.

Let them have it.

You can’t stop it, anyway. We are still a year and a half from the next Congressional elections. Forestalling the “program†will only keep the horrible effects of the Democratic domestic agenda from fully taking hold before the next elections. They’re going to take what they want, anyway. Let them have it. Let them have what they want. You don’t have to vote for it. The time to vote is past. Sit back and watch them tear this mother down.

It won’t take long for those in the middle… those caught up in the “spirit of the moment,†those who were so easily convinced that our lives suck so much that we needed such “change†to feel the discomfort of the weight of government on their backs. Don’t let it be eased upon them, let it slam into all of our shoulders with the full weight of the overlord that is to become. Let us all feel the crushing weight of having those who would legislate against us for our own good succeed. It will happen, anyway. They have the votes… because many Americans didn’t.

Let them have it, and let us all taste it so that we will know the bitterness of it and remember. I am convinced that most of us will rebel against it, and a revolution of sorts will occur…

Dude are you obsessed or what? Just because someone is a democrat doesn't mean they are liberal, for example I am middle of the road and believe in the death penalty.

Sounds like your a sore loser, it is evident the country was not happy with the previous administrationn the last election and last midterm election proved that. Get over it all ready, Bush killed the economy and now Obama and Congress have to try and fix it, but of course you will blame te democrats for all the world's problems.

I see all you can do is call names and insult? No where in my post did I call any republican a name, you lose any credibility when you have to resort to those tactics.

Bush did nothing to help the uninsured to get affordable health care during his two terms. The economy lost more jobs in his two terms since any President since Herbert Hoover, ran up record deficits after inheriting a surplus.

But I don't know why I bother because in your eyes republicans are deity like and democrats are the devil.

I mean does reality, truth and facts mean anything to you or is it how you want to spin things to make your right wing extremist views seem to be the law of the land?

I think the biggest problem seems to be that we have two parties and two branches of government who have no motivation to fix the problem and every motivation (lobbyist) not to fix it. Until we manage to get a true multi party system in place and get rid of the electoral college I think we are stuck with the leaches we currently have in place. Having a dem or repub in power is equivalent to choosing between Manson or the BTK killer. Same crap different name.

I still see you have avoided the reality and facts of whàt happened to the economy under Bush, typical bait and switch reply.

By the way Obama and Congress is trying to clean up that mess all the economic problems didn't just magically appear after Obama took office, Bush and his administration just turned a blind eye to it and passed it on.

No the economic problems are not all Nobama's fault, but he damn sure is making it worse !

If Obama was a Sales Exec.

Product: Hope and Change new and improved Obama widget.
Problem: Fixes everything (as promised).
The Obama Widget Sales Pitch: Solution to all your problems, everyone will like you, you will have no more enemies. etc.

You get the widget and you are all hopped up almost into a surreal frenzy, you plug it in and heres what you get.

It doesnt make your life easier. In fact it makes it worse.
No one still likes you.
Your enemies still hate you, in fact more so then ever.
The widget doesn't do anything as it was advertised, in fact it does things that you never wanted.
They charge you more then what you agreed upon, and keep charging you.

You call and complain and they tell you that because the widget you had before was faulty, that this faulty widget is what you'll just have to accept....so just deal with it.

And another lie bites the dust...

Obama on Smart Grid: No longer about jobs

ABC’s Rick Klein notices that the Smart Grid project, one of the most highly touted programs for job creation by Barack Obama and Joe Biden, has had that requirement removed:

Obama Administration Grant Program De-Emphasizing Job Creation

When Vice President Joe Biden announced a new $3.3 billion grant program to upgrade the nation’s electricity network, the rationale was simple: “This is jobs -- jobs,†he said in April.

But the Obama administration is now saying it will not take the potential for job creation into account in “rating†proposed projects for possible funding -- after initially saying that would be a primary consideration.

It’s not hard to understand why this got pulled, especially given the timing. By the end of June, the Obama administration had realized that unemployment continued to rise despite all of the pork projects it had funded through Porkulus. The next week’s report from the BLS showed joblessness rising to 9.5%, proving that the Porkulus approach wouldn’t work to create jobs at all.

The namecalling stops NOW. If you incapable of discussing the topic like adults, the thread will be closed. Time off has been given already for some of the more egregious personal attacks.

Ok let me get this straight first of all according to this poll 52% still approve of him.

Second you said "the rest of America is getting a clue and feeling a bit remorseful".

Explain to me how 1,500 (as you said the rest of America) people is the rest of America when there is like 300 million people in the US?

Probably the trending is what he is referring to perhaps. Just a guess.

I took a statistics class in college and IIRC, the larger a pool of people (assuming they are random enough) gives a fairly accurate reflection of the society as a whole (that are similar to those polled). Also, IIRC, a 3% +/- variance is pretty good. Trying to get lower than that requires an extra cost which increases exponential. Of course polls are only as good as the questions that are asked and the pool of people surveyed. I hated that class with a passion but it was quite informative. I tend to look at polls and poll takers a bit differently.

Looks like theres more to it?

PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama tax pledge unrealistic

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama promised to fix health care and trim the federal budget deficit, all without raising taxes on anyone but the wealthiest Americans. It's a promise he's already broken and will likely have to break again. Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress have already increased tobacco taxes — which disproportionately hit the poor — to pay for extending health coverage to 4 million children in working low-income families.

Now, lawmakers are looking for more revenues to help pay for providing medical insurance to millions more who lack it at a projected cost of $1 trillion over the next decade.

obama_tax_hikes.jpg

Smoking is a personal choice and saying it affects the poor more is not the govts fault, no one forces anyone to smoke and Bush did the same on the cig tax to pay for schip.

God forbid we tax anyone so kids can have insurance and go to the dr instead of being sick and/or die, boy that Obama, what is he thinking wanting to make sure kids can have health care.

And by the way I work for the largest tobacco company in the US.

And why don't we just socialze medicine all ready and take the profit out of it, I would gladly pay a 3% payroll tax like in Canada so everyone can have insurance.
