Let the voting begin for passenger service agents.

I don't look good in red .... so I vote YES.

When it comes to agents Doug is a pretty decent guy. But he does answer to a board of directors and is responsible to shareholders. He's pretty much leaving it up to us. Vote yes and we negotiate with the shareholders. Vote no and the shareholders give the work to contractors.

Aviation Technical Services will formally open its renovated facility at KCI's overhaul and maintenance base on Thursday.
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is scheduled to be there for the event.
ATS is the country’s largest third-party provider of aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
The project is expected to create 500 new jobs over the next three to five years.

There is no way the AA agents will ever go union. Unless there are enough US agents to tip the scale. I worked alongside many 20 year+ AA agents who were very anti union and proud of it. They all voted no every time there was a representation election. They wont be voting in this election however as  they were all shown the door in 2013 and replaced by contract agents.

If they have recall rights they get to vote. What is AA's policy on the agents recall rights?

As far as I know they were "let go" (their positions terminated) not laid off. I don't think they have recall rights but I'm not sure. What I do know is none of them work at AA anymore.

Correct...and I see a few of the agents now working for the outsource company and most of them in a supervisory role.

Pretty bold statement considering that they almost voted in the union a year or so ago. I personally feel this time it happens. The agents, IMO, would be stupid not to vote them in.

The CWA/IBT have a pretty decent contract at US, great scope language.

If the union is voted in, you will more than likely see more work brought back in-house, as they dont use vendors at mainline stations to work the counter and gates.

I agree they would be stupid to stay non union. I hope you're right and they smarten up this time. The CWA is a good union.

Its not just the CWA, its an association or alliance with the CWA representing Agents East of the Mississippi and the IBT representing West of the Mississippi.

The CWA lost AA vote January 2013: 2,902 in favor of a union and 3,052 against.

The Board’s investigation establishes that there are approximately 8,287 Passenger Service Employees on the pre-merger American part of the system and approximately 6,544 on the pre-merger US Airways part of the system.

I believe over 80% at old US vote yes. Here's my prediction.

US side 5,200 YES.
AA side 3,400 YES
Total 8,600 YES

What do you guys think?
