June - IAM Fleet Service Discussion

It was only 2 weeks prior, its not a major dispute.

And it would take a court and a judge to decide that, and it wouldnt happen overnight.

The company knows and preys on this. End result... less IAM represented members.

Unless you give the work to another IAM represented group
As the largest independently held regional airline in the United States, Air Wisconsin Airlines Corporation performs flying services for US Airways, and ground handling services for United.

So be it

Actually they dont, if you work under the CBA, you have to follow the grievance procedure, a court will not hear a lawsuit.

Correct....unless its a DFR. Thats why your union can sign off mostly anything they want within reason for the good of all ( The Union).

The simple fact of the matter is this... the small station (BUF) incidences were the result of the company utilizing existing language contained in the current CBA that was NOT negotiated by Delaney.

Further, these same incidences are now being brought forward by people with political agendas attempting to cast doubt on Delaney by hinting that he could have either prevented, or somehow sought restitution from the company for these actions.

As it has been pointed out by 700... there is little anyone could have done to remedy this situation. Challenging it through the grievance procedure would have resulted in a lengthy legal battle that we would more than likely lose to begin with! This would be at the expense of current negotiations and membership financial resources of course!

Have any of you ever wondered the 141/R guys are not on here bashing with bullshit? They are doing the right thing and putting the Membership ahead of their own personal agendas! They are too busy with negotiations to even campaign against this f***ing garbage!

It’s time to quit attempting discredit the current the leadership and start supporting them! This is not a game... grow up... do the right thing and put your personal agenda aside for while. We are at the most critical turning point in recent history... let them do their job.

Do the right thing... VOTE 141/R !

roabilly,
Walking the BUF members off the property three weeks prior to the announced closing date is the issue. With all of the other previous Fleet Service station closings this was a first as far as I know. I'm sorry you view it as political bashing but speaking about this issue and others is part of the democratic process. A process the IAM was founded on. It's election time and all issues, qualifications, experience and track records are subject to review and consideration by the membership prior to their vote. All candidates are subject to the same scrutiny. Are you suggesting we ignore all of this... do the right thing, in your opinion, and blindly support the current leadership. If so... are you providing the blinders? Democracy doesn't work that way. The current leadership has been doing their job the past 4 years. Many are not impressed. In the end the members will decide.

Frankly, this organization is not ready for democracy, at least, not direct democracy, until and unless we have some protections for individuals. Canale was guilty of selling-out members in smaller stations, Car 54 has demonstrated his willingness to sell-out the part-timers with the HAL agreement, and the Membership were willing to agree with the bargain.

Ben Franklin once said, "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!" The individual as a practical matter is poorly armed by having few rights within this collectivist organization, as "Greater Good" arguments and the sacred 'democracy' will rationalize and justify any assault on equal protection!

Contrary to all the blabbering about "brotherhood," the two "ships" of Leadership and Membership won't give a second thought about forcing its "brothers" to walk the plank, so long as it serves their purposes.

So Scrutinizes Jester.

Kinda funny how Tim disappears off the boards and so does someone else, wonder if Tim will post again now?

People like you Jester sold them out with voting yes for a few silver coins and throwing your car workers under the bus.

You are correct that ALL candidates are under the microscope, Especially those on your ticket. The canoli supporters, you incluced. What were their track records? MW comes to mind. So are you suggesting we pick and choose who we want and not vote a straight slate? What does that say about the support structure within your slate? Is it every person for themselves on the LfP ticket? Dissention among the ranks already on the LfP ticket? And are you saying that if your team were in office the BUF members would not have been walked off the property? You know that is not the case right, The LfP team wouldn't have been able to stop it either and you know this, so please stop trying to hint you could have done things different.

My mind is made up! This is the most experienced team out there! 141 rising.jpg

Ok, so now the company reaches an agreement with the 3000 Piedmont Express Group Fleet Service and they get 4 % raises each year and a 6-8 % lump-sum signing bonus for 2012, hmmmm, can't remember ever getting any type of signing bonus here at mainline, and 4% raises each year!!!!.......so now let's see just what this company thinks of our group here at mainline. So far we are so far below everyone else it's hard to imagine getting anything as it's seems like the theme is on to just cut, cut and cut some more while other groups are gaining!!!!

CWA:"Piedmont Agents Win First Contract

i read the list of the names and their record that a poster on here posted its quite interested in how some of those were never told by some who are running. all i know right now is that the negogiation team should be hard at work on getting a new contract in place and with better scope and protection compared to what we have now espeically given the fact that us wants to go after aa

pj,
You fail to acknowledge that 6 candidates on the ND Team, including the current President, have served on the previous Canali Team so I will do it for you. I, personally, don't have a problem with that. Apparently you do. Your position, based on distrust of candidates who served on the Canali Team, is a bit hypocritical when you support a team that has the same number of candidates who served on the said team. Inclusive of the current President. No dissention on our team. I have never stated if my team were in office the BUF employees would not have been walked off the property. I have only questioned the remedial action for the affected employees in BUF. Your comprehension of previous posts seems to be clouded with you're perception and disdain of certain candidates. IMO... previous experience with past leadership team is a positive.

Unfortunately for Your slate and Tims' slate, there are too many things going on to make a change. I say and highly recommend that the leadership change be done in the middle of a contract not at the end, as is now. BTW, Delaney was hidden away in ATL wasn't he....Why was that?...KA may know! Was it because he was against all the things that RC was doing?.... I don't expect KA to acknowledge anything of the sort though.

Cargo, we can bicker back and forth about the "wrongs" and what may be your slates "rights' in regard to the same issues, but its a distraction with whats going on! There are a lot of good ideas out there!.......but don't forget!.....141Rising is still trying to clean the house that RC built.

mmike33,
I would refer to it as "meaningful discussion and debate" not bickering. In the end, no slate or candidate is beyond reproach. In the end, and rightfully so, the membership will decide in June. I, am willing to pledge my support of the team, the membership elects in June, to represent them the next four years. imo... any true union member should have this position. I have done this in the past and do not plan on changing that belief in the future. I would hope others share this belief. Otherwise, we become a fractured group that lacks solidarity. Not good for the collective group. The question is...are others on this forum willing to make the same committment?
