You may have already seen this(dated 3/10/07), but....

PIT Transfer Update - No information on transfers

I have not received any information on the final transfer results. Early yesterday, the company told me they were experiencing computer problems (what's new), and could not sent this information out, but the problem was to be fixed Friday evening. The final results had very few changes from what I reported earlier in my last eline. Unofficially, PIT had a total of 14 transfer request. Thirteen of the request were to PHL and 1 request to LGA. System wide unofficially PHL had 83 transfer request. That would make PHL approximately 47 short of the amount of transfers needed. The Large amount of transfer from DCA,LGA and BOS created greater shortages in those bases. It appears the company will either have to displace or recall some furloughed flight attendants to balance the system. I know how important this information is to many of you and I will provide it once I receive it.

Displacing only creates total havoc. Its like a boat with 6 holes and all they are doing by displacing is unplugging one hole to plug another. Sounds like they need to recall 50-100 to plug in DCA-LGA and BOS. Anything else will be a big mess.

PHL is already overstaffed. Even if they displace people from PIT, they will be senior to most in PHL. That will force more people to reserve and senior ones at that. The director of crew scheduling will AGAIN make blockholders fly 90 hours and everyone will be unhappy...er.

We are talking about Flight Attendant transfers for June 2007.

The blockholders are only responsible for their original line value or post SAP whichever is greater of the two. Flying to 90 means squat to blockholders. But for the RSV group it means you can't time out. If the max is set at 90 you can't call O/T until 85:01 instead of 80:01. Once again Reserves screwed. What is the AFA MEC doing to deal with this? John McCorkle? Hello? You write so well is your pen broken?

Like that is even an option!!!!

They need to recall and not allow those recalled to LGA/DCA/BOS or wherever to transfer out for at least six months or so.

What happened last time is that the ones that were recalled transfered out leaving LGA SHORT AGAIN.

I realize that the union would have to give relief of some sort?

Sidebar about more reserves...Anyone hear anything about how the reserve negos are coming?

Yesterday...CLT was short. Phl reserves were called out to sit OPR in CLT. Why is CLT short???

The matrix for the reserve lines is inadequate! (IMO)

They have at least 100+ reserves at the same seniority with the same days off.

If you are bottom reserve, by the time they would get to you, you would ALL be going off duty.

They need to have different lines for the top 50% and the bottom 50% to balance it out. Maybe #1 will have the same schedule as #700, but it would be more evenly spread out.

I know it has been said before but this system is so severely broken it's pathetic. The reserves are suffering so horribly and there is NO end in sight. I know nothing is going to change since we are under a negotiated agreement. Philly +130 and I'm sitting on 30 hours. What is the deal.

Guess what Philly? Rude awakening, because John McCorkle thinks that reserves are whinning complainers. He thinks we should stop whinning because we get paid 73 hours to do nothing. At least that is what he supposedly said when someone sent a letter to him that had received a less than adequate response from the company....

or use the Preferential Bidding System that is in the contract, but never used. IMO, no changes should be made until you see how the orginal system would work. At this point, we are only using half of what was intended.
