Displacements At Midatlantic

Yet another bonehead move on the company's part. Now they are displacing people, yet there will probably be two classes in January (+/- 50 people) who will be on the line in February. Just watch the company force bace these entire classes in Philly.

It was to be December initially, but was moved to January. I don't believe that there are even offical dates. We are about 20 overstaffed. There are reserves in Philadelphia that sit for days, if not weeks before getting called. Once "if" we get the 3 aircraft we are hearing about then maybe they will continue with the classes. Just does not make sence to start the next classes until we have the next few aircrafts in our hands.

There was never a December class offered. There were bids for September, October, November, and December classes but in the end, the October through December classes were not offered because of the bankruptcy. I just learned that the aircraft in question are in fact coming on line very soon. Whether it's three or seven, I don't know... I've heard both figures. In any event, the GE financing for the aircraft is a done deal and Embraer is ready to release them to UAIR.

yeah..now watch what happens when they start getting new a/c ..all those people who were displaced will be so mad when MAA opens philly back up in like april..they will all have been displaced for like 2 months..It never ends with the way "we" the employees..the backbone of U get screwed over. The f/a's that came back for less pay that were furloughed..fired, then furloughed and sat on reserve for months at mainline..always under the watchful eye of supervisors for commuting on reserve out of base..uniform checks constantly..as if they are all bored and have nothing better to do but check if you have 2 rings on one hand..no tie tab...ect...it amazes me how they all are treated for coming back to MAA to help out the airline. "hey I got an idea..lets displaced all those f/a that came back ..I don't think we screwed them enough yet!!!"

For what it's worth, the only airplanes coming with any certainty (as much as anything is certain now) are 3 CRJ's that must be bought and delivered by late Jan, per the 1110 agreement with Bombardier. Presumably those will be immediately sold and leased back (or financed thru EETC's) and will go to PSA.

As for the Emb-170's, there has been no 1110 agreement filed with the court yet for the 7 already on the property financed thru Embraer (though I haven't looked to see if anything was filed late today). Of course, there's the GE deal for 31 70 to 90-some seat RJ's that could produce deliveries.

With the MidAtlantic trasfers to DCA on January 31, guess what happens to ALPA's "roll call" majority?

Best regards,

When I was in DCA, at first I lived in F'burg, VA. The commute sucked no end. Then I got smart and rented a "porch" no joke, a porch! I was warm and it only cost 150.00 or so a month from a lady who worked the counter. There were 4 of us, she lived there and the rest commuted. Look into something like that if you want to commute until you are sure you want to move. DC is a great city to live in, but wow do you need some cash to live good there.

And that's what this company has become? An institution whose employees sleep on porches! God help us all.

This is a dream come true for the likes of Jerry Glass, et al. Gives more for them to sleep well in their million dollar mansions. What a wacky bunch in CCY running the show.

Let me be clear about this. It was an enclosed porch that was converted into a guest room. It was not great but I stayed warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It was a nice "crash pad", better than most. It was also in the mid 90's. Hope that dosen't burst your Glass smashing bubble.

OK, and "Enclosed" porch. Thats much better than sleeping on a "regular" porch. Ill let Jerry know our employees are not totally destitute yet...if I ever see him, but I dont travel in the same circles as those in CCY. ;)

Believe me, I am no fan of anyone in CCY, (I think most there have no clue about running an airline) but it worked for me when I needed it. It was better than others that slept 9 to a 2 bedroom apartment.

There is a pretty cheap crack house near DuPont Circle and Unity kitchen does a pretty mean lunch on Tuesday and Thurdays; however, at your new wages you may not be able to afford it.
