UAL Seeks Two-Hour Trial Delay To Negotiate With Unions
That should read ‘three unions’ now.

I don't know what's going on on the inside, but here's my take. I think ALPA may agree to allow the company to pursue "temporary measures" similar to the IAM deal. The company may then be able to "wait" until it has a deal with all the unions to submit all the "packages" at one time. Kind of a roundabout way to insure 'equitable' pain.

Overheard in o'hare at starbucks yesterday a few ual pilots saying something about an SOS. Some typeof super sonic transport?
whats an SOS?

Are you trying to be sarcastic or do you really not know?

Some people are younger and probably never heard that SOS = save our souls. They probably did not see TITANIC either. Is there some correlation here?

This is a quote from UAL ALPA MEC Chairman Mark Bathurst released earlier today. It seems that unless ALPA decides to fundamentally change the former agreement, the economic package for the pilots will stand. He also said ALPA and the Company were confident the language would be worked out ensuring that the pilots would not be left out in the cold as the only group to lose their DBP.

We don’t anticipate that there will be any changes to the economic package which we presented to you in the last few weeks and which you ratified. The $550 million Convertible Note, the 6% “C-Plan,â€￾ the 14.7 % pay reduction, and the schedule of incremental pay increases over the life of the contract will remain untouched and intact.

Cheers,
Z

In this context it actually stands for "suspension of service", and does NOT suggest it in the ludicrous slit your own throat way as AFA's chaos plan. There is some support out there at ALL the airlines among some pilots for a NATIONWIDE suspension of ALL air travel. It has gotten to the point that some think that is the only way to bring attention to the importanceof the industry to the economy and re-establish some level of bargaining power.

Busdrvr, must be a typical brain dead ALPA lemming. I guess that you boys in blue will never understand the amt of wreckage you have heaped on United Air Lines. You can go all the way back to 1985 and the summer of 2000, dubinski squeezed the last egg out of the golden goose and the brain dead MEC stood by and did nothing to rein in that JERK
UAL is absolutely right to wring every dime out of you scum bags, you caused irreparable damage to UAL and now it is pay back time

Gee, I've been saying that since early 2003. What took you guys so long to catch on?

As lnog as we keep moving people so they can spend their money the madness will continue!!!!

Stop moving people then you will see how important airline workers are!

Well the SWA Flight Attendants (TWU no less) were one of the first to come out in support of the AFA.
