Wings396,

We can actually save up to 80 hours comp as of last CBA.

P. Rez
Correct, we can let some carry over from the previous year. I meant that we can accrue 5 per year, and get paid for 2 holidays. Either way, I think that is a great option to have. Back when we got the extra time and a half on a holiday, you lost on on the .5 of extra pay if you put it towards comp.

I didn't think he could be so clueless however I can unlike him admit being wrong
Clueless, no, thinking in terms that are real, yes ya all have this Mr Rogers from PBS mentality. Get a grip dude, and stop looking at this merge through the same rose colored glasses that weez gave ya.

Bob it's ok. At the end of the story the ring was destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom and Sauron and his Armies were defeated and fled.

Your terms in many areas are not real because they have no basis in actual facts and actually seem to ignore many of them for some unknown reason.

Without getting into too many numbers and details, rat, for my wife and I, we have the middle of three plans. Not including vision, dental, I pay $110 per paycheck ($220 monthly) and they offers an $850 deductible, $2000 max out of pocket. You pay 20% until you reach your $2000 and then it's 100%.
By the way, the $850 is not counted toward your $2000 max so in reality it's $2850.
You talking about lus? Our plan has a $450 deductable. Not bad. I already met the out of pocket and the deductable was a part of that. I pay $26 each paycheck (except twice a year) for me and children.

Yes compared to your Medical our Medical sucks big Donkee balls. But here on this thread you have fools selling the line "You're coming up to our Medical whether you like it or not"

Those people should bend over and say "Thank you sir can I have another"

One of the big things that i hope the twu supports is no back to back pt shifts. Our agcs, especially in clt, are killin us by not fighting against it. Sad.

The only reason why lus should sign a new contract is if we get millions and millions. The no-displacement language is worth millions and our health insurance is a golden holy grail since the excise tax isnt necessarily immanent anymore.

Keep catering
Keep the small stations
Keep no-displacement
Keep health care
.....and since our company is making billions, ask for more. It just isnt necessary to put good and great things in play when we already have them and more pay raises as well. Rezler is wrong.

Tim where did Rezler or anyone for that matter say that they weren't looking for improvements in all areas? And as a matter of fact I think I recall the Negotiators mentioning that they did receive improvements in many areas against both languages they had to work with going in.

Common sense tells you it wouldn't be taking this long if they hadn't.

And I'm the guy that's been fighting my own people on these threads saying that we don't necessarily have to all get stuck with the expensive LAA current costs.

That's a a SCOPE issue that I wouldn't be surprised to hear the Company dislikes. I can guarantee (Again no State secret) they would like to cut down as much as they can on OT.

I'm wondering which language we'll see for OT bypass? Will the free money bypass survive or will the bypass,ee be required to work to get that money?

They already agreed to overtime bypass. No problem there. The main reason why we don't have a contract right now is because they got caught in a new election that I successfully argued, and this new election is serving as a negotiation strategy with the metaphorical political gun to their heads, if they sign some stupid stuff, that they might have otherwise signed if they didn't have to run for office. So I'm sure they had to rethink some things. I also C blocked Sixto as well {he is still in denial) , so he has to think about his position with the International as well, although it will be tough to displace him. He was home free for 4 years as well. Elections are the only way of holding these brothers accountable. And there is no better time to hold them accountable than in late stage negotiations.

Our LUS contract isn't even up for another year. We are getting another pay raise. So, what's the fuss of having a new contract unless it significantly advances LUS without giving anything up? There isn't any reason to open up our medical and no-displacement security. The company is under contract with us for one year, then several years thereafter until we sign a JCBA. But you and I both know that the company wants to get rid of that no-displacement policy and that either enough people will take buyout or there will be some layoffs. The company has already offered the No-Layoff in exchange and I wouldn't be surprised if the Union bites on that, but no-layoff is worthless language.

And I'm not too comfortable with that power stow either. It's nice but if we waive our protections and have sad language, then we may lose 1 person per team, systemwide. Will it affect me? Yes. I have 32 years but everything in a collective contract affects all of us. Bad things make us weaker. And exchanging a no-displacement for a no-layoff is a bad thing. We have too many hubs. Maybe 2 too many. Which hub goes will be haunted with a bad contract.

Of course, I'm speaking from a LUS perspective.

And the only reason why I think PHX is still a hub is because of that no-displacement language. The company paid a high price to get cross utilization by giving us no-displacement, but they want it back. The union will want something out of things, and may get its nugget from the company if it hands over the no-displacement for no-layoff. If it's going to be handed back, and it is, then it ought to come with some Big League million $ items.
And imo the company may be thinking that we don't need both PHL and JFK. Or CLT and MIA. The city of charlotte has been very proactive though but I still won't be surprised if we start to scale back CLT after a JCBA.

Unless of course American Airlines and the Association were collaborating to offload pension obligations to the IAMNPF. Then everyone wins..... except the legacy AA employees.

Then slow rolling the negotiations and creating desperation for settlement seems like a sound tactic.

I don't believe that to be the case but it seems to be a concern a lot of people have.

Tim can you leave all your personal Political rants off the table when you converse with me please? All that stuff is just a little out there and I don't really think has any bearing on talks even if of course you believe it does.

And I'm sure we would have continued to have "a" bypass language in our JCBA. The question is is it a free money bypass, or do you have to come in and do the hours bypassed?

No Displacement vs No Layoff would be like our Station Protection vs System Protection language we used to have before the BK. Can't see a no displacement hitting our tables personally if the Company is going to be shifting flights around. The no displacement like the 1 flight language you got sounds like it was just another placemat until we reach JCBA. But it was good language to keep the company coming to the table to get a JCBA done. So bravo to your guys for capturing it. Sucks to say this to people but Airlines are a mobile business.

And No Layoff (System Protection) is not worthless as long as you're willing to move to keep your job. I used it twice myself in my career. (Would like to see some Special Moving Money allowance make a return appearance)

All of this is just the unfortunate nature of us having filled out an application to work in the Airline industry. Worse case scenario for me here in MIA (wouldn't be happy about it) is I'd be renting out my Condo and probably be bumping into CLT as my next destination. But I highly doubt MIA would ever shrink enough to get to me anyway?
