WeAA, I was referencing ur comment where u said u heard some IAM reps disparage the pt/ft in ur post.

Bob, I'm not in DFW. But in my station we have over 20 flights a day losing 4 agents one ft n 3 pt agents as they're transferring out. They're not being replaced. We are getting more work w flights than before
And I know a guy on the LUS side saying the same thing.

Page 115 Bob. 40% of the total amount of FSC. And that's also why I can't stand how the IAM contract penalizes people for being PT. It's like these people subsidize everyone. The Company, The Union and the FT member. This language better not be weaker than our language even if our language isn't good enough either.

I would still be a part-timer if it wasn't for me transferring to DFW. I understand that art. on the US side but the company is trying to base the population of PT-FSC not based on the number of FT but the total number in the system.

If you insist and are successful at keeping your medical plans with it's ridiculous injustice of having PT members pay double to subsidize FT (Me) members you are creating your own issues as to why the Company will want as many PT members as they can fill into the bucket. You've created the motivation for management to always want to be at the max cap even if the operation would be better served with FT members.
I think the US IAM group is the only one that does that.

US IAM 141 Part Timer
Double the rate for insurance
Half the contributor for IAMPF
Same dues expense for everyone
Can't bump a FT out on layoff

And I've heard there are IAM guys that have the balls to say the TWU treats their PT like crap.

Yea right. LMFAO. Please let me hear this explanation?

HA HA HA...... OMG that is rich coming from you.

Speaking of being forced to subsidize the cost of other's medical insurance, where was your outrage when the liberals were pushing Obamacare? Your double standard is showing.

Let me be very clear. Part timers do not subsidize your medical costs just because they pay more. What they pay does not exceed or even meet the actual insurance cost, so how can they be subsidizing you? In fact the company is the one doing the subsidizing. They just subsidize less for a part timer than a full timer.

A part timer subsidizes nothing.

You are telling a lie trying to push an agenda.

A pattern with you.

Didn't say Reps Robbed. I'd like to hope they have read our contract and know better.

Just so you know. I DO NOT read you. But again I pop on and there you are ready to be the typical nuisance that can't contain yourself as usual.

As 700 used to say "This is a message board" but if this was my private property I would have you arrested for trespassing (You don't work with us and NEVER will again) and I would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

In other words I still consider you pure Garbage.

I promise you medical will go up period, that's just the cost of working.

I believe for us it can go down once the entire company are in the same plans? As a matter of fact Bob 2 of our 3 plans did go down. Ok it was only a dollar or two a month but they did go down.

And our pay for next year went up 24% (so far)

in our station the afternoon leads try to put 5 total on each of the MIA PHX and DFW flights and 4 for CLT 3 for the commuters in the am shift its 2 in the bin plus clp agent and lead

bob this aint nothing new for us weve been working short for years only now we have more work than before bob with you being in a hub its far easier n less work I know bec I did a short time in boston and it was a large city then, and currently in my station we are not exactly small

3 at each end, or 3 total?

He means 3 total. In MIA we're down to 4 man crews. I'm the back belly guy. Usually the crew will dump the front first while I water the plane, bring up escorts and set up the huff and headset. Then I'll dump out the back if there are bags.

If it's a domestic flight they'll send out bag runners for the transfers. If the flight is extremely heavy we'll usually get an assist guy or two to help with the turn.

It works fine and I don't feel like we're busting our nuts.

Oh forgot to mention we went down from 5 to 4 because of the Powerstow belt. Sorry about the loss of a man (moved to other areas of the operation) but the Powerstow is the greatest thing to ever come to our job.

Before it my back and shoulders had there better days. Now if the CC tells me 130 in the back I just shrug my shoulders and say, ok.

That sounds almost leisurous compared to my time in PHX. Lead was the 3rd person of the team, and if lucky maybe a "hit team" person would be found on A321s. So usually, it was a 2-man team (crew) plus the lead (crew chief), but I guess after burning enough freight due to time constraints Management figured it was best to schedule a 3-man team on that aircraft, plus the lead. And what's a power stow? (sarcasm)

I got an idea, how about instead of us thinking of a wish list of a contract, we can discuss the hardcore items with the potential to eviscerate the number of full-timers if this, "bargaining table language" is allowed to continue.

Passage from the 11-18-2016 update.

Recognition of Rights and ComplianceThe company wants to reserve the right to direct or assign our work under certain circumstances, without the direction of a Crew Chief/Lead.

Part-TimeThe company wants to base the part-time ratio on the total number of fleet service employees versus the total number of full-time employees.

Passage from the 10-28-2016 Update

Reduction in Force We received the company’s proposal on this article and held discussions; there was no agreement on the company’s proposal as it does not afford our membership the right opportunities to further their employment options.

Recall We received the company’s proposal on this article and there is no agreement at this time.

This is what we should all be talking about.
Our contract, in the end, will be a carbon copy of the agents, period.

What's odd about the use of Managers vs. Crew Chiefs would be how US could be divided be the old East vs. the old West. The old West stations used more managers and given the relatively inexperienced work force (due to high turn over rates) it wasn't uncommon to see Leads with less than a year of experience on the ramp, while the East had more experienced crews and Leads and less Managers. Over time the West side started to model itself more along the East, but make no mistake about it, the Union was MUCH stronger on the East side and worked strictly by the book and the Leads didn't take nearly as much Management crap. It was refreshing to see the PHL transfers becoming almost insolent whenever a Manager would bark orders. It looks as if AA wants to raise bar of independence from Management, but I doubt the Fort Worth boys will give up that control in the contract.

I have no doubt that in the event of furlough, Management would very much desire to rid itself of topped-out persons by making a transfer as difficult, as narrow, and as restrictive as possible. Moving allowance? Bumping privileges? 10-years of recall rights? Retaining seniority? Nothing good for the Company to liberalize any of those items in the contract, but rather offer a pittance in moving allowance, some goofy "juniority" after systemwide open full-time positions have been exhausted, 90-day expiration on recall rights (yeah, US had that after its bankruptcy contract), and lose seniority on a day-for-day basis as with the old AA contracts... that's what Management will have as its objectives.
