If U is able to abrogate any or all contracts via a 1113 proceeding it's time for all unions on property to put thier differences behind them and go on strike. If Bruce wants to play hardball we can play hardball. This job is simply not worth any less than what we're making now.
Please don't bore me with "if your so unhappy find another job".

aerosmith-

I've said it once and I'll say it again. This job is not worth as much as what it is paying. Wages are grossly inflated as they are in the automotive and manufacturing industries and that is why companies continue to collapse. Wages are well above market reference and if you cannot see that, you haven't looked at any other industries. But then again...at such wages...why would you want to look to any other industry?

they will wake up from this dream and realize they have no skills to work anywhere else and they will suffer.

Strike? Sure. Have fun. Watch the place burn to the ground. The best and brightest won't be around to join you. They'll be employed elsewhere.

instead of figuring out how you can mess over fellow emplyees, since your not happy, go find anther job. Show some intelligence man . Its not gonna happen that way. You dont cut your nose off despite your own face or someone elses

Hahah dumbest idea ever. Take a cash strapped, BKed company, then all the employee decide not to show up for work until they get better wage arrangements? ?? ROTFLMAO!!!!      Yeah.. that will work!!! :p

Some of you really live in fantasy land.

A strike will do nothing for you besides reduce the amount of time you have left to find a new job.

Like Grandma always said "Don't throw out the baby with the bath water."

If you like working there, then belly up, take the cut, and live to fight another day. If you have no transferable skills, now is a great time to start studying at night.

unions will never work together like they should. they should demand
their contacted out cities back .their layed off people most of there jobs
back at a fair wage. If not shut it down and let the one that manage it
try to find another job.

They can make all the demands they want but unless it's profitable for the company to do what you demand it will remain just a demand and nothing more. The senior executives and those in management will be unemployed far less time than the union members of this company. The headhunters have been circling UAIR for a long time and some have left. You're probably about to see more go in the next few months.

message for union workers:
go back to school!! u arnt gonna find a job in this industry. I know most of you are mid to late 40s +. No one will hire you, they will see US Air on the resume and say we dont want these bandits!I knwo McDonalds is always hiring shift supervisors.

you can sit out the strike down in FLA... just buy one of those 49$ fare on SWA from anywhere in the North East to FLA with your strike pay...

Play hardball by going on strike and you will have lots of time to play hardball with your former co-workers when USAir immediately liquidates.

Why not look for another job BEFORE helping to terminate everyone else's job?
