Yea me too. but I'm sure they can make the 400 EOW again, if there still not flying around like that still, so thats bad news.

As far as I know, all that's needed is life vests for the entire 737 fleet to be "non-oceanographic" capable - that's over 50nm but less than 162nm from shore. The fleet may all have vests already - I frankly don't keep track. The other component is pilot qualification (which we're doing now) and having the charts/maps/etc (which we're getting).

As nybusdriver said somewhere, that covers the LA/Caribbean flying although some routings may be less direct than optimum. The only exception is Mexico City, since it requires special pilot qualification which we don't have - yet.
