I have mentioned this on other threads. Is Phoenix becoming the "new" PIT????????? Our flying is dissapearing, at least 7% in the last two years. And I don't buy that we are in a low season anymore. We are hiring pilots and fa's so they can sit around? Stagnant growth, and eventually further decreases in flying. We blamed Mesa before the merger, but now seems mgmt has something up there dirty sleeves, and maybe the demise of the Sandcastle???? Hmmm...? No explanation, or answer of why. I am sick of the Philly excuse too. What is really going on?!! Give all the flying to Southwest, is that is your intended plan?!!! :down: :down:

You seem to have all the stats. I only know our block hours have decreased significantly over the last 2yrs for pilots and fa's. No new flying out of the PHX hub. We have seen increase in East flights, but it averages out to no additional block on the West. More people are going back on RSV. I have not been able to hold certian trips, blocks the last year that was no problem in the past. No explanation by the Dougweiser either. :blink: :unsure:

I knew the West ASM's were decreasing from the quarterly reports, not by 7% but about 4.3% over the last 2 years (2Q07 vs 2Q05). Of course, in that same time East ASM's decreased about 12.4% - entirely between 2Q05 and 2Q06 as airplanes were being returned as a result of BK. From 2Q06 to 2Q07 East ASM's actually increased a fraction of a percent - presumably the ex-ATA planes, E190's, and increased TA flying more than offset the painting cycle.
I had just assumed that the West reductions were the result of aircraft being out of service for painting and the 757 ETOPs mods, in addition to the normal maintenance cycle.

I don't have the complete statistics for mainline. Is approx 380 daily departures I believe?? Or that includes express, codeshare, etc. I believe they are just going to keep PHX as a feeder hub like CLT. Seems the only money to be made I guess. I know PHXPhlyer has good info. Can you enlight us?

W'ell in that case, the advertisments they make in PHX are wrong, including Billboards all over the city!

I obviously haven't seen the billboards, but sounds like "creative" use of the english language to me. Even in little old GSO with it's 20-25 RJ/Dash flights a day, you can "fly with US" to lots of places. All one needs is a single flight to a hub to "fly with US" to anywhere US serves, so anyone in a hub city has the entire US system available to them (some connections may be required....).W'ell in that case, the advertisments they make in PHX are wrong, including Billboards all over the city!

The only time they actually advertise is during Diamondback games, same theme music and demos we play on the a/c, stupid CEO's standing in front of the runway while an airbus takes off! ???
It should be, Fly We US, and you are guranteed a dog turd meal in f/c, and you can buy cat mix in coach if you are lucky!!!
