America is looking for a leader and I don't think party matters.....I see no great dem standing above the crowd at this time....Fred may be the answer...time will tell.

Maybe 4 more years of Bush??

Fred is an actor, nothing more. His tenure in Congress was non-eventful. His position on various conservative issues is troublesome to the far right. Most of what I have heard is that his past would not speak well under the intense light of scrutiny.

Personally, I am liking Obama more and more. I did not give him much of a chance but given the amount of cash he has raised with out the built in infrastructure that Clinton has indicates to me that he has broad based support both among blacks, other minorities as well as whites.

Much of what I have read about him seems to be that he is quite accomplished at bringing people from opposite sides together. That, as much as anything, seems to be what we need right now.

I am starting to wonder if we will not see a Clinton/Obama ticket combination. Not sure who would make the better POTUS (I suspect Obama). I know they said neither would do that but I cannot help but think that would be an unstoppable ticket.

As for your thesis that Cheney and W have nothing to lose. That may be the case for them, but their is the republican party to be worried about. If Cheney for what ever twisted reason decides to go in to Iran, he will have backed every republican congress person into a corner. They will have to decided if they wish to continue serving in Congress or not. Assuming they do not want to go out and get a real job, they will be forced to turn on their own POTUS/VPOTUS . They will more than likely even have to consider impeaching AND removing their own leader from office.

The only way they could justify an invasion of Iran is if the Iranian government made some sort of blatant attack. Such as a squadron of Iranian fighters going over to Iraq and carpet bombing Baghdad.

Cheney and W have no more credibility. Nothing they say has any credibility any more.

They are now trying to use Executive Privilege to cover up the Tillman issue. All they are doing is tying it up in court. The truth will come out and it will be tacked on to their already shredded legacy of lies and deceit.

As this is being written, Richard Cheney , POTUS

If Cheney for what ever twisted reason decides to go in to Iran, he will have backed every republican congress person into a corner.

Republicans,et al have backed themselves into the corner and need no help from George and Dickie.

Ahminejad in trouble?

Most Iranians oppose regime

Many would endorse 'Velvet Revolution' or even foreign military intervention

A new survey reveals that 92 percent of the subjects of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's totalitarian government do not believe their nation's role is positive, and two-thirds (66%) would support a "Velvet Revolution" to remove him from power.

Looks like it may have just came to the front door ;)
