IAM Transition Negotiations Update. August 1-10. --{14}

Times getting short for both the IAM and the company....both of them want to settle before any case goes to arbitration. Time and just getting back what you lost over the years will be a big factor in what the employees will do.

It’s kinda like a kid, take it away for a while then make him beg for it back....!! Work’s every time.

The IAM Negotiating Committee for the Maintenance & Related Recieved Notification For Meeting's Scheduled August 1-10,Possibly Thru the 14th of August,2007.With A National Mediator, & US AIRWAYS Management Negotiation's Team's.

Nothing to be so happy about.
Negociations = m&r members might benefit somewhat, but the iam will benefit more.
Suspect the goal of the union is " how can we get this to pass with 51%.

More money is good for the current membership.
More jobs is better for the union.

The iam pension fund sucked for us during the first BK, why should we want it now.

I personally would rather take the chance in arbitration, (ball park figure) snap back = 2.50 an hr for 2 yrs = 10,000
More jobs wont replace that aging vehicle, wont offset rising fuel prices, wont offset higher insurance premiums, wont offset higher milk/food prices.
So what good does more jobs do for those of us working now?
Do you tell your loved ones, "at least im in the iampf those corn flakes are made to be eaten without milk"

TAKE CARE OF THE MEMBERSHIP FIRST, then it might be a job worth having, and a union one might be proud of.

Otherwise the company and the union are the same its all about the $$$$$$$$$$

If the negotiations are an improvement there will be no vote. Lets see what happens with the snap back in September when that case is heard and do the transition agreement now on it's own merit. I'm not ready for the IAM pension either, lets see how they handle the current issues first.

These talks dont release them from arbitration, they had better not let the company out of the arbitration.

So, will the IAM push for SNAPBACK or for more Union Dues?

Certainly they want more dues payers but if they get snapbacks they will just raise the amount you pay. It's all about the money! Someone has to fund those worthless conventions. The End
