I dont agree with outsourcing, but negotiations is compromise, airlines are going out of business and others are failing, the industry wont make a profit this year, so what good is profit sharing?

It is give and take and any gain is better than none if the NC thinks this is the best they can do or get.

You dont want to go through another Chapter 11 CBA, trust me.

I was refering to the rank and file in PHL,CLT,LAS,PHX, amongst all the lesser maint. stations. Dont care what the NC is payed, or the AGC's nor the international people....

700 is right contract negotiations are compromise. But, compromise is not giving away everything little thing little by little in hopes of getting it back someday. That is a pipe dream. When there is nothing left of that section to compromise there will be no getting it back. When it is gone it is gone. The contract is also more than a sick day, more than out outsourcing, more than the medical, and plenty more than a measly pay raise!!! I find it shocking that someone that was ready to take down this company for contract violation is now saying that it is fine now.

I think most of the problem is the negotiation committee has become a little too cozy with their positions. They are so experienced that it has clouded their judgment. Complacency is a killer in the cockpit and that is what is going on here. This is just the way these things go they say. Remember what happened last time you told them no. They told you you were confused!! You guys fell for it hook line and sinker.

Compromise is one thing, but a complete concessionary agreement during a time of profit and no bankruptcy? Yes, I know fuel prices are high. This does not give a blank check for you guys to be steam rolled. We do not know the future of the economy. It goes up it goes down. You must think of long term protections not just a pay raise for the short term.

If you do not believe that you are not giving the baby bus work away, maybe that is the twisted little numbers they use to speak of protected positions and billable hours has confused you again. Bottom line you will be giving work away that you fought so hard to prove was yours in the first place.

Think of creative ways to bring work back in house. There was an article in an aviation journal about AA starting to bring more of it's work back in house. They were finding that their own mechanics were finding more efficient ways of getting the work done and that quality control was not as much an issue. On paper they were saving millions but logistical challenges with quality issues were also factors to consider. They also do maintenance on other airlines planes. It is this outside the box thinking that s needed here.

Again, if you are a west employee you are paying about a third for medical coverage that has superior coverage to that on the east. When you are brought to east coverage that will quickly peck away at that raise you thought you were getting. How about that IAM pension plan. Do you seriously want to get rid of something that nobody can touch that has a company match (additional pay) to a plan controlled by the union. If you decide to work after retiring here you must receive the blessing of the union. Even if that job is flipping burgers! They will decide whether to suspend your pension or not as per the contact at the people that will administer the plan.

Please take a look at the big picture before you vote! Let us now go vote NO!

Any early predictions? Station by Station how does it look?

The T/A passed by 64 %

Now some of you can come to work and whine for 3.5 more years.

If this place, along with the company and the union is making anyone so miserable that it effects their outlook on life its time to get yourself more education and find a job that will make you happy.

Just got back from voting NO. When I first started, Bill F. told me "I helped build this airline and I'll help tear it down!!" 1989. Early 1990's Bill F. said to me," Times have changed, the union and company have to work together." Since then I've seen the compromise. Utility help with push-backs. I'm bumped. Greenboro and Winston closed. More bumps. TPA hanger closed. More bumps. No longer doing push-backs and air starts. I've seen the company and union working together, my co-workers out of work. My co-workers through-out the company are sick of one sided compromise. Baby steps?? I hope that this vote will be the first to say ENOUGH!!! I'm Tired of COMPROMISE. Good luck to all, Doom on you is GONE.

That statement is irresponsible witch displays your lack of credibility. Even you know that the east coast has not yet reported and are not counted until the polls close.

From the 1725 website:

A transitional contract ratification vote for US Airways Mechanic and Related employees will be held on Thursday April 3, 2008. This vote is open to all currently employed Local Lodge 1725 members in good standing covered under the US Airways Mechanic and Related contract administered by District Lodge 142. Members from other Local Lodges who are in Charlotte NC that day may cast a ballot if they have a letter properly signed and sealed from their Local Lodge on file. The polls will be at the American Legion Post 380 located at 4235 W Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC 28208. The polls will be open from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. No absentee balloting will be allowed for this vote.

Will this T/A pass?? Of course it will. Our negotiating team (if thats what you want to call them) is in bed with the company. The IAM has played on the emotions of the people they represent. That is, they have taken advantage of our feelings. Many of us are just plain tired and fed up to the point where we say "anything is better than nothing". Shame on the IAM for selling us down the river. They took the companies bait and put it on the hook for us to swallow. How else can you explain a deal that the company gave to the union to sell to us. By deal I mean a dollar amount that was cost neutral for the company but costly to us. Just remember April of 2003 when this IAM pesion plan gets itself in trouble again. Nothing is gauranteed except death, taxes, and the union looking out for itself. As for me, I vote NO!! Hold your head high and tell them we had the guts to put them(the union dictatorship) in their place.

Just got back from voting NO.I hope when Doogie is sitting up in the usair skybox(usair has 5 sky boxes in the Phx area alone!) at the D-Backs home opener,he will have already recieved his copy of the zero cost T/A, With a big stamp across the front markedREJECTED!

A Big WOW! from fleet. It's the old guys against the new guys! Looks like the results mean it's enough to live on and we'll get on! Luck to those who weathered the worst of the economy the last 20 years. Hope we can hang on.

Seems, the company is trying to help mechanics, but, it is NOT! enough, but you guys will prevail!

Darn, the results of the war and the economy!

Us Airways WILL BE A SURVIVOR! America will show what sacrifices WE! have taken. But, WE will show the world this airline is the result of being beaten down awhile and come out SHINING!
