Is there anywhere else to find mechanic bids and awards on the internet other than local 1976 website (they can't seem to keep it updated).

Guess Frankie and Johnny are too busy to bother with such trivial issues as people's jobs and whatnot with all they have going on...know what I mean James Dean.

That web site has never been keep up to date and when one confronts Frank of that fact or any issue that calls him to task he explodes then goes off to the golf course...nothing changes except what we make change in our own personal life because we sure as hell can't change people and their ways.....Love Curt

Boy Curt, guess you cant wait to try and slam the people that brought you good wages and benefits over the years.

Second the local lodge only updates them when M&E (the company) sends the bids and awards to the webmaster of 1976.

And Curt, why do you care you have been gone for months, not good to harbor such bitterness, walk a day in their shoes and you will have a total differant outlook.

And you can call 1-800-428-3876, that is the US Airways Bid information line.

Thanks 700. I'm not trying to slam the union, I just want to know if I can find this info elsewhere online. I was just hoping there was an easier way of accessing this info other than the 1-800#.

Aerosmith,

I know you were not, I was talking about calibrator.

Facts...get educated and you too will know the facts......slamming is not slamming when it is simply the FACTS. In this case it is the FACTS. If you don't like it, tough I don't care because I am NOT PC for either front and never was---Curt

PS: I still love you

Now edited...dont use real names ok ..and as far as Good wages and benniies, brought by the IAM...what a joke...those were just things of the times...and guess what..these are not the same times, and the IAM is the same in their minds...so its about time that either the IAM tells it like it is , or just take a walk, and maybe represent some donut makers...Hey there is an option...Donuts instead of Pizzas at your lodge meatings.

Get a spell checker when you're pissed.. :p

Bitter is not in my life one iota.

I no longer wonder if I will have a job next week or if someone from CLT or LAX is going to take my job. I don't need to work weekends and night shift, I no longer need to hear every single day of my life, “this place sucks and whyâ€￾ like I listened to for too many years.

I am “very appreciativeâ€￾ of the union for making it possible for me to collect a decent pension at my age. Without the union that would be unheard of, and even if that was all the union provided me, which in reality it was a lot more, but if that was all they provided I would be happy I paid dues all those years. I will collect for the rest of my life thanks to the union, the IAM.

Frank S. is NOT the IAM, he a man in over his head, he is a mechanic trying to fit into a world where he doesn't belong and too stubborn to realize that fact, that was my ONLY beef and many others as well, just ask them.

Curt,

I have witnessed Frank in action against the company during negotiations and he did a good job in his arguements and why don't you ask all the guys whose jobs he got back about what the caliber of his work is.

i've seen too many too quick to judge without having personally dealt with the man.
person's in that capacity frequently are the go to guy for vented frustrations when many could find the quilty party looking in the mirror.
when i say personally dealing i mean on the union level, not in some back corner in the shop in a heated #### session. ;)

Ask Aerosmith what he did to the men in the Pit Machine Shop, ASK HIM!

He is no angel, he was bias. Only the "licensed" mechanics were flesh and bone and to hell with the rest. I was licensed and one of my incentives to do so was his attitude and generally that of the entire IAM in Pit, FACT. Plain and simple FACT. He would turn his head when someone from the Machine Shop had a beef, like they were not part of the program.

There was a women mechanic in Pit who was treated badly, very badly by management. This was after years and years. In fact this women was hired the very same day as I was. She was out of her league but the company over looked that fact until Dave Sigel make his entrance upon which time they make a witch hunt of her after years of ignoring her. What did the Pit IAM and the Pit president do about it? Nothing!! Not a damn thing, because she was a women and didn’t have her licenses, she was branded not only by the company and co-workers but also the very union she paid dues to for years!

I could go on and on, point being, FRANK was in charge when these things occurred. He was elected because the guy before him was doing the same things but not to the level that Frank carried them out to, his legacy ended up being a pussy cat when compared to Frank’s antics. Ask some of Frank's golfing buddies. They said he was union crazy and should get out because it changed him, to the worse yet he stayed.

He has backers like you who really truly don’t know the man under the skin. And how could you being from a different station, different state and different culture? You can’t. Ask the southern boys how much they loved Pit, most hated it and I can understand why. One is now at Timco, he was hard core union, you probably know him. He is a nice guy as just about everyone from the south was, ask him and others their feelings on Frankie baby.

So think and believe what you want 700, I lived it, I know what’s up and what’s not, you don’t, you didn’t live it.

Curt

Funny, ask delldude, I am not a Frank backer, and never have been, but you could not hold his jock when it comes to dealing with contractual issues.

Is that why tons of mechanics are now looking for jobs and the ones remaining get (5) holidays off a year among many other sub-union benefits.

I work at a non-union shop and have benefits the IAM mechanics would envy and I pay zero dues for them!

Is this the man you worship 700 :p

Your blinding loyalty requires a welding helmet.

Dell dude is dell dude, we are cool, he loves Frank I don't.

The guy in hanger 5 “B. H.â€￾ was a way better man but unlike Frankie was not PC so you have what you have...a terrible contract with benefits that are shameful, that is Frank's legacy, nothing more.

Anything written on here won't change what the remaining mechanics live with, shameful benefits and no pensions, what kind of powerful man is require to secure those kinds of gains…Hmmmm…Thanks for the laugh

Curt
