Iam Hearing Postponed Till 1/27/05

Boeing Boy is correct the hearing was scheduled for Thursday, not sooner, there was no delay.

The judge ruled on 1/7/05 that the abrogation would be status quo until the IAM ratifies or not by 1/21/05.

PLease contact your Local to find out why the hearing was cancelled this pass Friday 01/21/05 and why the Local is not putting anything out about it. You woun't believe WHY!

Do you people not understand, there was NEVER a hearing scheduled friday the 21st. Once the IAM notified the company that all three contracts passed the company THEN filed to hold a hearing with the court to approve all the agreements.

How can you schedule a hearing on the 21st if the results were not going to be known till the evening of the 21st?

Take the time to think before you spout and post false information.

the judge is going to throw out the severance...ahh the sky is falling......
its all bullcrap dude....
quit listening to the uninformed....
motion to accept - not reject dude

Real simple question......when does the new company proposal take effect? Nobody seems to know the answer?

Purely my guess so take it for what it's worth - not much....

To the extent possible, retroactive to the day the judge abrogated the contract.

On second thought, let me rephrase that....

If retroactive will save more money, that's what they'll try for. If the interim cuts save more, it won't be retroactive.

real simple answer...its spelled out quite distinctly in the IAM proposal we all voted on....and we all were given... look on the second or third page.....its quite elementary...

Today's Happenings:

Mitchell also approved the carrier's final giveback agreements with three units of the International Association of Machinists, completing the airline's efforts to secure $1 billion in concessions from its labor groups.

The deal with nearly 9,000 mechanics, baggage handlers and aircraft cleaners for roughly $350 million in wage and pension concessions was reached last Friday after months of difficult negotiations.

This seems really sad that this simple information is not afforded to the membership it concerns. You are not the only one asking this simple question and I find it quite ridiculous that membership looks to a 3rd party, unaffilated source, (this board) for answers. The IAM needs to be ridiculed for their handling of this whole mess.

Just my thoughts.......

The contract says quite clear when it takes effect.

The first Monday after the current pay period after the IAM ratifies and the court approves the agreement.

every mechanic should have had a copy of the term sheet by now and should have read it in detail and there should be no reason to ask when then....
