Why didn't the IAM get the information out about the hearing on the motion to accept the IAM/USAIRWAYS proposal that was ratified by the membership being postponed until Thursday: 1/27/05 . The word on the floor is the Company realized that severance to be paid out will be in the range of 40 million plus. And at this time they are figuring out how legally they can take it from the rank en file . Please if anyone can bring light on this subject , do so. For at this time the IAM officals are silent.

does this pertain to the new horrible proposal that the company came up with?

OOPS, looks like all the yes voters are gonna get screwed...... NO SEVERANCE....?????? Come on, but they said, "vote no and U WILL NOT RECIEVE SEVERANCE, and U guys took the bait, Hook Line and Sinker !!!!

The ratification included severance pay.

I assume the motion has nothing to do with that. If it does then big problems.

regards,

Unless there's something that's not on the website where all the court dockets are posted, there wasn't a previous date set for the hearing - 1/27/05 is the first and only date set.

Jim

Rumors have been rampant the past few days with regards to severance or in many cases rumors of lack of....... The IAM as usual is right on top of the situation(NOT!!!!!!) They have not been heard of since the vote

before all go jumping off the bridge.....
judge only decides to accept or reject the contract...........contract has already been rejected ,pending a ratification acceptance.... and it has been accepted......
mitchell has no power to decide to remove the severance wording.....either he accepts or rejects the modifications...no inter-tweeking.

And if you do a search I think you will see I was one of the first if not the first to agree that the yes'ers would get hoodwinked on this.

You can search my posts too. Eradication of severence is only a gavel drop away. It will require a seperate motion and discussion though.

The discussion then becomes, is the refusal of severence a major dispute. No, wait, it's BANKRUPTCY! The Judge can do anything with or to any "agreement".

Nope second vote is only when a contract is voted down not when it has passed

a double cross would be an exciting outcome for our yesmen....

I hate to be the one to rub it in to all the "spineless" ones who voted away their jobs at USAirways for 12-20K depending on your position, but many spoke of what could happen!!!! And yes, they may have lied to you again

I am sure of one thing, when B Baldanza recently departed I'm sure he walked with all monies due him!!!!(1 Mil+)
