I just worked with a former "EAST" F/A - Many topics

So you DO like the kool-ade! :p I'll be trying the orange one tomorrow in the crewroom while I watch the video. I should bring some popcorn(maybe you will vomit on it. too) ; I heard it's as long as "The Thornbirds".
If its the kool-ade from the grocery store... YES.....  :p

If its from the company, I listen and take an opnion as you guys do the same....
As far as a company/or union guys... NADA... I"m a FA... Just a employee that goes to work to do my best. then I go HOME>.... :p :D

I just try not to be bitter/or hang around bitter FA's... there life is sooooo unhappy. And its sad... It is taking a toll on there life, work, and home... and most of all there personal health... I only wish them well. :D

You’ve got me there; I’ve never seen the show.

The ACE program must be a real stinker since no one has explained it yet.

ACE is employees in certain departments flying positive space and filling out a form on compliance issues.

OH, I GET IT!
A ghost-narc

Exactly!

So that is why we as you say "westies" do our job by procedure. Otherwise you will get a note to see your supervisor regarding an Ace flight. (No not Ace from American Idol.) Collect enough of those Must see me notes and could lead to discipline down the road. (Sort of like in the game of Monopoly, go directly to jail)

In the long run, it will help not only for the employees to comply with policies and procedures, but to also provide our customers with a streamlined product that is the same on both East and West service guidelines. (this eliminates the well on the East they let me do this..or the west gives me that) Example, now we all have the first class snack basket...streamlined policies and product to our customers)

The Monitor and Challenge is a door arming and disarming procedure to help alleviate the amount of blown slides that can occur. The first (A) monitors the Second FA (B) disarm as they are "preparing to disarm". The first (a) says "verified" if the second (B) is preparing to lift the disarm/arm lever. If correct the second (B) says "disarming" and disarms door 1R. (Now if the second (B) goes to lift the door handle...the first,(a) Shouts "STOP!"
Now second (B) goes to door 1L and does the same monitor and challenge procedure. And awaits the flight deck to state, " Doors OK to open". The second (B) awaits the gate agent to knock on the door and the second gives the "thumbs Up" signal for the agent to open the service door. (Now if the door is not disarmed by the time the gate agent knocks, the FA gives the crossed hands signal to indicate that the door is still armed. (Gate agent does NOT open the door)

This was a NASA tested procedure. Seriously it was. They found thru research that like the flight deck, they monitor and challenge their check list and found that fewer errors are created.

So that explains the Monitor and Challenge Door Operating Procedures. ( this will be company wide door operating procedures for ALL flight attndts both East and West)

Southernboy, you are correct in your analogy. Red NO, Green Go! Easiest thing is never touch the red/orange handle unless it is an emergency.

Hope that helps clarify this subject for all.

And for you Jet...I would suggest that you fly your FIRST trip before you get on here and tell US how we need to do things! Life is different outside of New-Hire Training!

Oh my! You seriously think I am still in New-hire training? You must be joking?? I have many of years under my belt and know how to do my job and possibly run circles around you and your bitter-hate my job attitude!

If life is that bitter for you at US, then maybe you should start looking for a career that allows you all the time to complain, whine and moan about how life in the "old" days were. History can repeat itself, and I prefer to not live in the past!

The past is the past, its time for you to close that door in the past, you cant change what happened to the old US. Its time to turn the page and open a new door and see what it has in store for you!

You have a perfect opportunity to turn this company around and prove to everyone that we can be the BEST!

I am just one person, one that takes great pride in my job, the company I work for and take the opportunity to provide an outstanding product for our customers. Afterall, they are the ones that allow you to go out and by your Minolo's! If you keep your complaining and the hatrid in your job, you will be shopping at Payless or Walmart for your shoes after you successfully tick off a colaboration of our passengers with your negativity.

If each employee raised their morale by at least 10% it would be an improvement. Raise the percentage and just see how great this airline can be!

Be thankful that we all are here to have this job, and that you are still flying. Think of all those recalled East FAs that are here on the West flying again. They are so happy to be flying again. Or if you prefer, keep to your moaning, and maybe you will find yourself at New Hire training for another carrier one day??

I hope that you can make a change and help make US an airline of choice.

Maybe some homework for you is to get on USAirways.com and look at the new commercials that we have out there. Take the time to watch the "I Make US Fly" video. If after watching all of that, and you still hate your job, then maybe US isn't for you.

Prove to US that you do care about your job, and your passengers. I believe you can do it!

I Make US Fly!

I don't think he was threatening altering the food or drink. Perhaps maybe being less attentive.

Fair enough.

Was that a threat to sit down and read a magazine, or do something else?

The only person that has the answer is Jetsetter2Ord

I await his/her answer.

Well, why would there be a need to cough, cough, and then hack if you weren't spitting in someone's drink. That is what happens when you hire 18 year olds with a high school degree or equivalent.
