Pay increases are coming at SWA LCC!

Yeah. We all know about the failed business model...the one that did not take into account airplanes flying into buildings. Don't be like Gangwal at U and cheer the event, much less forget it's effect. This is indeed all business 101...but business 101 does NOT include WAR...in fact all normal insurance policys exclude it. An employee of AA should be the LAST one to forget all this. Best Greeter. (tired of the healthy just wishing for the sick to die off so they can "get on with it.") not any ill will to you personally..just venting a little.

quote Walmartgreeter

The legacy airlines were in serious trouble before 9/11 and how do you explain the fact that SWA continued to make a profit after 9/11?

AA's load factors are much higher now than they were before 9/11 and we are still losing a ton of money.
There are always going to be events that happen outside of the airline which have an effect on it but a well run airline can still earn a profit during adversity.
2004 it was fuel prices.2005 it is already fare wars.
What's the next excuse going to be for legacy airline management to blame for excessive losses? They should look in the mirror to find the problem and QUIT BLAMING EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE FOR THEIR INCOMPETENCE.

You posting is the typical attitude of most people which is blame someone else or something else for your problems.

I did not tell YOU[please note that I said THEY] to look into the mirror unless you are part of upper management which makes the decisions that control the airline. My statement about looking in the mirror was included in the statement about management.

My statement about your posting is the TYPICAL attitude of MOST people so you are not alone.

If you are so discusted with the way things are run then why don't you seek employment in the management end of things (unless you are already there)?

I don't have have all the answers but I sure can see that the current[and recent past] direction of management at legacy carriers IS NOT WORKING.
Why would I want to join a bunch of LOSERS who cannot make a airline run profitable?

Now a management job at SWA does sound interesting!
