How about yet another airline?

I am sure we will know soon enough....
I do believe Delta can grow/go it alone just fine.
Who else has 8 777's comming on property in just over a year?

Hate to break the news to you but some of the other carriers have 8 777's sitting in LHR or NRT at anyone time. You guys do have a small widebody fleet. ( at UA we don't even count the 767 as widebody )

Those 8 airplanes may be a nice addition but you need about 4 times that many to start strutting like a banty rooster.

Oh is that what your doing? Your banting like a rooster about who is bigger?
Strut all you like.
My post was about Delta's future growth plan for the next year. Did I strike a nerve?
What is UAL's growth plan?

That's easy, and I don't even need the staples button!!!

Go back into Ch. 11 for another 3 years, and paint their planes again !!!

So from the looks of all these RUMORS, Delta, Northwest, United, Continental, and American will merge??? I think it's a bunch of talk to raise stock prices. So the new airline will be DUNCA, and the only other major carrier will be US Airways.

Let me say something, the world of aviation is becoming more screwed up than I always thought it was!

Why a carved UAL? Why not carving NWA? Or for that matter carving up DAL? The obvious reason for not being able to carve DAL is that it only has one hub that anyone would really want and that is ATL. It appears the DL group is desperate and can not find anyone to mate with them.

Here is another rumor passed amongst the ALPA insiders yesterday. DAL to be divided up! Yes, you heard it here first. The problem DAL has is that they are really a one hub airline. The only way to grow their market share is to merge. JFK is not a true hub as they don't have the service to as many cities and connection opportunities that a traditional hub would give. Therefore in the split B6 will be the one taking the JFK ops and utilizing the 190's to make a proper hub. CVG will disappear and UAL will acquire the Atlanta portion of DAL. SLC will go the way of the dodo bird and the landscape will be fresh again.

"Mags"

I could go along with you 100% about UAL "going it alone", EXCEPT for 1 Nasty problem,......................Glen Tilton,...................how do you "negate" him ?

CVG will disappear and UAL will acquire the Atlanta portion of DAL. SLC will go the way of the dodo bird and the landscape will be fresh again.

And Glen Tilton will be spending your concessions, UAL will still be a zillion dollars in debt, and you'll still be trolling the DL message boards.

Could sworn some other airline just did that same thing...declare bankruptcy, change the livery again.

Hell you people still have planes in the Ron Allen livery disaster driving around out there, didn't even manage to repaint the entire fleet before you decided to go from Dixieflot to this new livery.

United managed to not only paint the entire fleet in one livery before changing it, they actually kept it for a couple of years.

Here is another rumor passed amongst the ALPA insiders yesterday. DAL to be divided up! Yes, you heard it here first.

Actually, we heard it quite a bit from numerous US Airways employees and others during last years hostile takeover attempt by US. Are you trying to rekindle that rumor? Care to substantiate who your ALPA insiders are or are we simply going to have to take your word for it?

The problem DAL has is that they are really a one hub airline.

I find it comical that you are here spouting the same fragmentation rhetoric you vehemently argue against on the UA boards. Seems a tad hypocritical to me.

Luv,

That is the joke my friend. Everyone of the DAL people talk about the piecing out of UAL, and yet they don't see how much of a predicament they are in. The entire post was in jest to try and let them see the that DAL could possibly be broken up just as easy as any other carrier. The employees do not have the inside scoop, the union does not have the inside scoop. The only people that know what is going to happen are the guys that run these places. Everyone likes to say Tilton is parting out UAL but he has done nothing of the sort. He has said he would consider selling the MOC and Mileage plus. AA has said they would consider selling their AAdvantage program and are also selling American Eagle yet you don't hear people saying they are putting up a for sale sign. What is the difference? Sure Tilton is an putz but he is no different than the other putzs at the other carriers. For some reason the typical DAL employee wants to bash UAL but not sure why that is?

Maybe it is because UAL has things that DAL needs to survive and they take that as OUR weakness?????

Didn't DAL spend some time in CH11 and haven't they had about 6 different paint jobs in the past 10 years? The paint looks more and more like areflot all the time.

UAL may be painting more planes in the future.......All of them will be ex widget adorned airplanes and of course we will paint them.

Well I know where you are coming from in regards to the fragmentation theory idiocies thrown out on these boards. Like I said, those same theories were being propogated on the DL boards last year. Interesting how many of those same people don't have the brass ones to appear anymore.
I would also caution you that some on these boards hardly represent the typical DL employee in regards to feelings about UAL or any other airline for that matter.

Please... the new livery came out when we emerged from bankruptcy, and all the different paint jobs add charm and character, something that U lacks... but don't despair, I promise you will get to paint planes, but it won't be Delta's but rather 'LGA Fleet Service' sorry US Air fleet, and while Tilton will probably gladly leave with his millions, you will inherit the swift and successful leadership of Dougie Parker...

Smiles...

"character" is like saying the blind date has a "nice personality". That is being polite.
