Gun Threads - Merged

it was a gun plain and simple. It was then and it is now, just because there are more now it doesn't change anything as much as you would like it to.
here's the definition

weapons and ammunition; armaments.
"they were subjugated by force of arms"
synonyms: weapons, weaponry, firearms, guns, ordnance, artillery, armaments, munitions, matériel
"the illegal export of arms"

I'm not going back and forth with you on this arms are guns no matter how much you hate them and want them banned. Have a great day!

Look...I'll admit that I don't know the difference between a Beretta and an Uzi,.  Great.  But petey said that us stupid liberals don't understand that the second amendment was created to protect us and the constitution from an overreaching government.  But where were you all when the government was overreaching and trampling on the fourth amendment?  Y'all didn't take up arms....you sat back and said "if you haven't done anything wrong, you don't have anything to worry about".  If petey is right about us stupid liberals, than how come nobody on your side will address why the constitutionalists let the government do the overreaching and didn't grab your arms/weaponry/armaments or whatever nit picking terminology you want to use and stand up to this?  Too busy chanting "USA USA"?

Educate me....if the government was overreaching and threatening the constitution and our freedoms - which would be your weapon of choice?  Which weapons were the ones that were raised when our government did to a little overreaching?  Oh yeah....they stayed put away.  The founding fathers are still ashamed of you.

I'd have to say the US military as they are our first line defense in defending and protecting the Constitution, and they took an oath covering that very issue.

Next you'll say what if they didn't see it that way. I tell you, you'll never get the entire military to go insurrection, the ones that support tyrannical moves will split from the supporters of the Constitution as will a majority of civilians and we will be at war with ourselves once again.

Arguably the biggest overreach in US history, and not only did they not rise up against it, they were convinced to advocate /for/ it.

They?

Who are "they"?

Besides the fictitious boogeymen in your head?

The patriot act was created by a "conservative" and continued by a "liberal", It was a slippery slope made by the federal government, and power grabs by the federal government are supported by whichever party is in office at the time. Democrats only mention states rights when Republicans are making screwy federal laws, and vice versa.

Democrats were against it when Bush introduced it and passed it in Congress in September 2001, but then Obama expanding it is somehow okay and reasonable.

So lets get this straight. Liberals say conservatives never stood up against NSA spying patriot act, etc.

Just another lie they keep pushing.

Lets look at the facts.

Why have so many liberals been silent about NSA spying?

Liberals, conservatives unite vs. NSA spying

On the conservative side, Larry Klayman the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, and a former Justice Department prosecutor – has filed suit:

Against President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, the heads of the National Security Agency (NSA) and Verizon, the entities themselves, and the federal judge, Roger Vinson, who signed the warrant allowing for the alleged illegal violation of the constitutional rights of well over a hundred million subscribers and users, to be a class action lawsuit. The complaint, which can be found at www.freedomwatchusa.org, was amended yesterday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. (Case No. 1:13-cv-OO851).

Wednesday, Klayman will file a separate class action lawsuit against the big technology companies which have given customer data to the NSA.

You totally bought in to the Patriot Act, didn't you?

Actually at the time it made me feel a bit uneasy. Knowing that with all government intentions, its a slippery slope. Inevitably mission creep expands into areas not originally intended. And so it came to fruition.

Great. A lone voice in a giant chorus of "if you haven't done anything wrong, you've got nothing to worry about."

Edit: Thank you for answering for once; I appreciate it. So, remind us again why you didn't take up arms against this clear government overreach?
