Gun Threads - Merged

Why don't you post the countries that have higher rates than 3.7?

Don't let the facts get in your way

Although those difference may not meaningfully impact the chart's assertions, other factors render it highly misleading. As noted earlier, the chart title ("Gun Murders Per 100,000 Residents") hints that the United States comes in at the top globally in rate of gun murders, but the article from which the chart was sourced ("Homicide, Suicide, and Unintentional Firearm Fatality: Comparing the United States with Other High-Income Countries, 2003") contrasted the U.S. only with what it categorized as "high-income" nations. (Compared to all countries in the world, the United States ranks significantly lower in this metric.)

As we noted in a previous article about gun deaths in the United States compared to the rest of the world, the U.S ranks behind dozens of other nations (for both gun-related murders and non-gun-related homicides.)

That's the NRA I remember.

Today's NRA is almost unrecognizeable in comparison.

Do they even sponsor/hunter safety courses anymore?

P.S. I can recall a gun safety class in 6th grade and later even "Gasp!" a shooting team in high school. What I can't recall is anything like a Columbine massacre occurring during those times. Today's kids are suspended from school for so much as chewing a pop tart into the vague shape of a pistol, or even drawing a picture of a weapon. So we must reasonably ask ourselves just how well all the whole "politically correct" BS actually works?...Versus even the slightest bit of actual sanity, that is...?

Of course the NRA has hunter saftey and competitive shooting. They have Eddie Eagle for kids.
The radical left demonizes the NRA because they are a strong 2nd Ammendment advocate, and gun control/confiscation has failed to pass. The 2nd Ammendment has been upheld by the Supreme Court thanks to the NRA and its massive support by We The People.

Except when their bodyguards use their guns to defend them, then it's all good.

Good to hear. Maybe they should take back their organization from the crazies that have co-opted it, and revert to focusing on these sorts of solid fundamentals.
