Glass Resignation Or Dismissal

Some senior Exec once told me to quit if I feel that the job is not worth it. I replied..."We are at war, there is no going AWOL."
That is excellent advice. The employees that refuse to give more concessions should seek an alternative occupation. Vote Yes and move on to other endeavors.

Labor should forget about the past and concentrate on the future. Lakefield has initiated a Corp. Culture Change board. Labor should stop worrying about who is in Senior Management and worry more about saving this company. Lakefield has stated numerous times that we will do it with or without you. I support the current management team 110%. The LCCs are the problem not management.

HAWK,

As I have told you many times...we will leave when we take our VOTE!

Lake-lucky-field has appointed Jerry G. to head the task force on "culture change" LOL.... Deleted by moderator

You always make an appearance when it seems that labor might just be “getting itâ€￾. Dave Siegel was only the head of a giant festering infection and Lakefield is the band-aid. You must think us fools believing otherwise, you must also feel threatened because your sanctuary is compromised by a awaking labor force that sees the reality.

Just saw GateGourmet pull up to a plane in DEN the other day and for a brief moment I thought of deleted
ktflyhome... I have to admit that was pretty funny... thanks for the chuckle I need it ;-)

Lest anyone forget, Mr. Glass is nothing more than
a well paid labor relations consultant who happens
to have a nice V.P. title at US Airways. He is
expendable, but only when the noose is properly
set on the labor groups. Here is a brief bio:

Jerry Glass was raised in New York City. He received
his B.A. from Boston University and his M.PA from
George Washington University.

Jerry provides strategic advice and research on labor,
employee relations and human resource matters. He is
a recognized expert on airline labor matters and represents
transportation-sector companies in negotiations, including
those in the airline, railroad, and oil and gas service
provider fields. He is a frequent speaker, and provides
expert testimony in arbitrations and litigations.

Lakefiled will keep him on the payroll until the time
is right to send him packing, and that will be when the
discomfort has reached the appropriate level.

You are the one who is selfish and doesn't understand. You have no right to tell the employees that do not want to take more concessions how to vote and what to do.

He who forgets the past is doomed to repeat it. Be it nation, company or individual.

You are getting Lakefield confused with USA320Pilot who has repeated several time that Lakefield said he will do it with or without you.

That is the problem in reorganizing USAIRWAYS, any organized labor force for that matter, you can't "weed out" the bad apples. Because of seniorty or longevity provisions we are faced with winning the hearts and minds of some of the nastiest employees in the world over to thinking like a winner.

All they have known their entire life is entitlement, they come from the northeast for cris'sake, ME ME ME ......It's all about them, the "Bright House" people.

The concept of "Taking one for the team" or "Winning one for thr Gipper" doesn't even compute with these people, it's all about them.

So it's is just about an insurmoutable task to show them the difference between a survivor and a loser, unless it can be done on somebody elses paycheck or lifestyle!....

We are doomed not by the competition, or bad management (we are in no worse shape than any other legacy carrier) we are doomed by the man in the mirror, ourseifish selves...

we have met the enemy, and he is us........

bigbusdriver: I don't believe one can say that all people from the Northeast are selfish and that is a regional thing. I have met selfish people ALL over the states as well as very nice, considerate, caring people from all over the states. It is not just a regional thing.

Remember 9-11. That was in the Northeast, NYC. Were those people selfish??????
People in the Northeast may be rude from time to time, but he11, I have met some of the rudest people in North Carolina.

I often equate the ME, ME, ME thing with laziness....not selfishness.

Well, Piney, I would tell the Captain to get out of the way and let the crew take over. Ever see "Mutiny on the Bounty"????? ;)

"Then BANG the ship hits an iceberg and no one not even the captain knows what to do. Blame is thrown in all directions while the ship sinks and no one know what to do or how to do it."

One could surmise that the captain attained the rank because he's supposed to know what to do and paid accordingly. Unfortunately, our "ship" has had a succession of captains that only knew one answer - throw crew overboard. When that didn't work, they each took a lifeboat and rowed away.

And some wonder why the remaining crewmembers are leery of the latest captain when he has the same plan.....

OMG Jim that was one of the best posts ever.......
YES, I concur. Jim is very elegant and not as gruff as I am with his opinions.

Jim also lived it hence this carries a lot of weight unlike the non U employees on here spouting off all the virtues of business and what we should be doing, thinking or saying.

To all of them I say, take a hike over a cliff.
