Gate Agreement Allows US Airways to add European Flights

Reading comprehension isn't really your strong suit is it?

"BTW I'm taking the approach that I was here when the Brain Trust took over and I'll be here when they are gone"

Perhaps your efforts would be best spent getting the PHL AFA in order than giving me a rough way to go.

My point was that until US Airways addresses their operational shortcomings the PHL airport authorities (Who I loathe BTW), Mayor or any local government anyplace should just not be very accomodating. Those folks job is to represent the people of a specific area. I would argue vigurously that the publics best interest is not served by a poor performing airline.

You have been Bitching and Moaning about the Same SH** for how many years now? It's REALLY Getting OLD!! If We Are SOOOO Poor Performing, than why still fly US?

hp fa: I Have EVERY Right to MY opinion as ANYONE else!! I'm Sick of the BASHING this Guy Does Day in and Day out!!I Have Been reading it for years now!!

Don't Tell Me How My "efforts" Should be Bet Spent! This Has NOTHING to do with You So Piss OFF!!

Would have been a good thread, but it was taken over again by Delta V U.S and moaning pax who should get a life and if they are not happy go to another carrier, but i'm sure they would flood other airlines threads on how they did not get an uprade and how many miles they have.. blah blah blah..

5 New cities. Any ideas?? BHX???

Yeah, those nasty high rev pax, who pay your salary. Shame on them.

PHLfa88, He has a right to complain! Goodness knows, this latest bunch of corporate raiders do not care about customers or long time employees!
I agree with Piney as well. He is exactly right about everything he said, the employees and the passengers get nothing but spin and BS coming out of the mouths of Tempe, just look at AboutUS. Yeah we might of been on the brink until this merger but turning US into cheap stinky poopoo is not going to work in the long-term. Thanks Piney for not backing down.

Thank you Piney for not backing down.

We need to shut it down for at least a day. I appeal to the flight attendants because the pilots are too weak. Cry-babies that they are.

I just love the employees on here that tell our TRUE ff's to go stick it and leave already because YOU are tired of hearing them b!tch. You DO understand where your paycheck comes from don't you? I mean honestly. Outside of work you are a consumer as well. For some to leave is not as easy as hopping on another carrier when an airline has that city or route pretty much locked down. Maybe you should remember what your telling our VFF's when YOU are the consumer somewhere and getting the shaft. Telling them to stop complaining and leave already is NOT the answer. FIX YOUR PROBLEMS is the answer. Don't worry, all the changes that are being made now will come back to bite US in the long run. Wait and see.

That didn't stop you from turning it into another merger topic. The topic of the article is about gates. Not a merger.
So, this solves the problem for this summer. What about May 2008? And further, what if they want to add 2 or 3 more services in 2008? Hmmmm....

CO & UA seem to be offering a higher level of service while maintaining profits.

CO announced that they will have a small loss in the 4th quarter. Some reports indicate that UA could have a loss due to the unusual Denver snow storms.

We flew on US to TPA on Christmas Day and home on the 28th. Coach inflight service was decent on all flights. The only problem was that luggage claim in TPA took about an hour. It was Christmas night and low staffing that Tadjr recently mentioned was obviously the major factor.

We flew CO twice in November, to IAH and to TPA. Their coach service was fairly comparable to US, except that CO served free lunches on the flights to/from IAH and to TPA.

I know my comments don't pertain to European expansion, but they do relate to other posts on this thread.

Bull crap! LCC is trying to maximize revenue to send as much money as possible to stakeholders.

Prove me wrong.
You say that as if it is a bad thing.

But isn't that what a corporation is legally obligated to do?

Bob, I thought you jumped ship and moved on to another carrier.

Good one.

If he did that, what would he have to complain about 24/7?

It began that way, and if  had any competency in social intercourse, would realize that often, in any legitimate conversation or discussion, with actual give-and-take, any subject leads to another and morphs into something entirely different, yet again. One would have to possess actual social skills to be cognizant of that, however. And the laughs just keep on coming. . .

It's even funnier when you consider that the OP himself, in the very first post of the thread, brought up the merger issue, and then complained that someone else dared to mention the merger.

My point wasn't that it was a bad thing. My point was that USA320Pilot was wrong in his statement.

FWIW, I agree that Doug has a duty to maximize revenue. However he, along with much of the CEO population, only worries about the short term and figures that either the long term will somehow take care of itself and/or that whatever occurs in whatever future exists won't be on his watch.

FWIW, my opinion is that your opinion is based on a faulty premise. Bob does not usually take front liners to task, at least not without specific justification.

Boy, I don't think the evidence supports that Parker is a short-time thinker. I think just the opposite. He is thinking about a future structure of the airline industry. I just am not sure that the regulators are going to see it with him.

US stated that they would like to add another 5 or 6 destinations from PHL. Will they announce anymore this year?

Maybe we can work out a deal with UPS and bus the passengers over there. Load them up cargo style. Seems to be how the new management thinks of passengers.
