Flight Crews Need SIDA

The ground personel are the ones that should be made to go through security! They have easy access to the aircraft!!

In PHX a few years ago they busted over 100 employees (various airlines, vendors or the city) working w/ SIDA badges that had given false names and SSNs! It was assumed most where in this country, how do they say "Undocumented".

sky high states: Uhhh, NO. First of all, you name yourself after a "bull". YOU cant fill those shoes, they belong to PIT BULL. You're a WEAK IMITATION.
And rightfully so. Boardcasting HOW airline employees get through NON/Secure doors....what AIRPORTS flight crews do NOT go through "security" SHOULD NOT, be discussed on a message board.
I may not fill pitbull shoes I will give that one to you...going thru airport doors is not a security issue...you must trust and go along with all our crack pot gov tells you to beleave...there is always TSA at these doors and special ID is required...people useing these doors are checked out from backgroud checks and so on...we need UAS like in CLT to get to our workplace that is the topic...the dog and pony show crews have to go thru need to STOP!!!it's company and gov. BS

Sounds like TSA or the City is making their own rules. If TSA does not require flt crews to go through all that #### @ other cities, it must be the Aviation Dept coming up w/ those rules....I agree, bombard the aviation directors office with phone calls...

How about we just shut it down for a day?

Stop whining about trying to do something that nobody promised you when you took the job and I'll stop whining about being less of a threat, kay?

Shorter:
So, if we behave less like Americans then you will quit whining about being "less of a threat"?

Evolution demands exploration of all environmental facets. If whining is the mechanism to such diversity, then, so be it. In any case, STFU, you socialist facist. Whining is my right, donkey.

When the chief pilot of PHL points to the lack of security incidents at CLT vs PHL, I point out why, almost no crewmember actually transits security in CLT. Almost every US carrier has provisions to bypass security.

I think every crewmember would get behind a "no security" work stoppage. Start with PHL involving all carriers involved. Could really reduce the delays.......

Shut the bastards down. Wish we could do it country-wide. Likely would get our retirement plans back, at a minimum.

Otherwise, let them suck pickles.

The ground personel are not the ones putting their lives on the line. If anyone should be more trusted it should be the crews.

I am not sure that is an accurate statement...Anyone working on the ramp puts their life on the line, it is a dangerous environment...Ask the family of the AMT in ELP. Everyone involved in the operation as a whole is just as important as the next person, whether your flight crew, cabin crew, fleet or maintenance and needs to be trusted the same.

Wow...you had to dust this thread off...it's a whole year old!

Anyway, my neighbor holds a high security clearance. He designs software for fighter jets. That doesn't mean he can jump in line ahead of me at security!

If the TSA were staffed properly and didn't waste so much time staring at boarding passes, staring at photo ID's, and looking for 1000 different kinds of banned objects, then this wouldn't be an issue. Everyone would go through security and few would complain because it would only take 10 seconds.

Until then, the practice of cutting to the front of the security line should be banned. It's rude. Wait your turn!

Largely because I know folks who perform them.

The crew background check is nothing. Call me when they call your mother, father, friends, family, neighbors, teachers, and the kid who babysat you decades ago.
Wrong. It's required for my job. I'm unaware of commercial transit over oceans that does not involve airplanes. I'm unaware of how to get from the west coast to the east coast in under 12 hours without the use of an aircraft.
That does not permit one to cut the line.
Which either a greater security threat than people who have been screened to a more severe degree, particularly as it pertains to their background.

Been there/Done that: Many of us have military backgrounds with appropriate clearances for the required duties, in some cases up to and including nukes/etc.

"Stop whining about trying to do something that nobody promised you when you took the job and I'll stop whining about being less of a threat, kay?"
As I recall from my commercial airline "youth"; we weren't even required to go through security for many years, and amazingly enough?...No one hijacked their own airplanes anyway

Tell you what = I'll eschew any further "whining"...How about you drop your bloated sense of self importance?

This is our career not yours. I dont have the same perks at your job that you do! Get an airline job then come back and comment!

Are you a pilot? Flight attendant? Wannabe?
We should have our own lines, but short of that, there is no way that crews should wait behind a very long line causing delays for all flights. Spare me the, "Well, you should plan accordingly"...Pay me by the minute to stand in line, and I will gladly do so. Would you like to board the plane before your crew too? Afterall, you did get there first!

WE ARE JUST GOING TO WORK!!!

So are many of the passengers on your flights! Quite frankly, given how easy creating fake IDs and uniforms is these days, everyone should go through security. As a passenger, I'm not comfortable if anyone bypasses.

So what, I don't get paid by the minute to stand in line either.
