Any word on the fleet service negotiations ? They met in CLT this week and no one says a word.

They took a collection for the PHL22 that is the most pressing concern at this time.

I'm on pins and needles out here !very anxious ..... i dunno but i have a good feeling about it this time! come on , daddy needs a new pair of shoes!!!

well lets just say dont buy the shoes yet. Apparently the IAM hasnt got a deal yet but did get more dates at the end of the month (3). Rumor has it it will be extended through 2011/12 so more likely a vote on the transition. I dont have a good feeling on a voted contract if it doesnt have 21+ an hour

oh thats just great , horray! more of the same , waiting that is!!!

Dream on. Theres no way you will ever see a transition agreement that ofers that kind of money. If that kind of money ever comes our way again it will be in winning the arbitration and that would only effect the east.
If by some chance that kind of money comes our way there will be a lot given up. For me I would rather see vacation time and seeing the east sick policy go away and see a few more holidays and settle for more like 18.50 to 19.

No question that the $21 plus is going to be very hard to come by without great sacrifice unless arbitration makes it so. The money just isn't going to come this go around. As it is, we aren't even suppose to order some of the basic supplies that are needed.
Go for the shortest possible contract you can get, more vacation, definitly the West attendance policy, a little more 401k match, better uniform allowances etc. The Company is going to need to be fairly profitable over the next few years or the unions to be able to levy and financial pressure.

In response to the very first post on the issue, it is a legal situation. Other than pointing fingers at each other and blaming the other for causing the non-movement, there really isn't anything that can be said. Oh, and by the way, both parties are at equal fault for this thing not moving along.

wow a true mgmt person has spoken. like i said i dont think a vote will pass unless 21 an hour happens. I am a westie i believe it will be along party lines for the most part west yes east no! I dont blame anyone but the company they have tried to stall things out as long as possible and now the arbitration is getting ever so close. If this doesa go to a vote and fail the IAM must be prepared to start section 6 with the west because the east will get the 21 an hour and the west will not put up with that pay disparity. By the way what things are you not being allowed to order HPMGR1?

I wish that it was as simple as saying that we can't order pencils. It;s more complicated than that but I offerred it up in that way for simplicity. We have been placed in a "just in time" situation so that we can squeeze in to each month's budget. It puts us in a bad situation and causes us to run out of critical items not to mention that the order/shipping process isn't working very well either. Critical ground equipment might have to sit for a while due to repair costs so you can move the costs into next months budget. Of course, by the middle of next month your budget is gone and so more has to sit. There is a lot more, but as I said, it is difficult to lay out for everyone.

Negotiations- We will all have our own perspective but I do fault both sides. Negotiaions are full of political posturing, egos, and one upmanship regardless of the union and the contract that is being worked on. I never have and never will trust everything that comes from either side. I get worn out on people getting screwed out of what they deserve. Likewise I am worn out of listening to Union Fat Cats talk about their poor and downtrodden membership, and then go cut into a big fat juicy steak for dinner at the memberships expense. I can't tell you how lucky I am to work with the people I do on the Ramp. They are incredible and they bust thier aXX day in and day out. If it were just HP that's one thing, but we did the merger, and things are different. Under the circumstances, I think it is criminal to pay someone 7.50/hr etc. For crying out loud...IAM..quit asking for the moon...Leadership..quit trying to save that nickel. I understand costs but it is costing us more in other ways at the moment. GET THIS THING DONE!!
