Maybe it would have made more sense to come up with a survival business plan that utilised what you have, not what you might maybe possibly get when all the kinks have been worked out.

This is why the ATSB is such a sham. It allowed amateurs like Dave to come in and play Airline CEO because it made available long lines of credit. A real CEO would take what they have and make a product that they can sell to the world. Anybody can take a big pot of money and blow it on new shiny things.

Is there anyone out there who knows how to run an Airline?

Hmmm...... I guess Brazil has had it to with their management.

The Embraer workers had the right idea after 9/11. When management came to them with plans to use 9/11 as an excuse to smash their union, they went on strike, and forced a different approach by management in which jobs were saved by temporarily shortening work hours instead of savage layoffs.

Of course, the Brazilians also have the advantage of having a real political system with more than two political parties that just represent corporations. Hmmmm.....

I'll stay on this story as best I can and keep folks updated.
