Emb 170's In The Air

Crazy8... Guess it's just ANOTHER SECRET...we'll have to uncover ourselves

Try going to Embraer.com Click on Aircraft~then emb170.... It will give you an idea of the interior and Galley !!!!!

ALSO, Found out how to get on hub....enter U0 employee number..that would be U and then ZERO.... then of course your 1st 5 digits of SS number !!!!

I've been to the EMB website. I even emailed the webmaster letting him/her know that the video of the 170 is not up and running. No success there either.

I would really like to see pictures of the inside cabin. Galley/Lavs...etc. Curious how it looks in USAirways colors. Leather or cloth seats.....just curious... :)

..............and visual conformation of 3 f/a jumpseats..... ;)

 Well, to sum it all up, "THIS IS NOT YOUR DADDY'S R.J.!"
Good evening....as manager of tech pubs for midatlantic, it was my distinct privilege to have gone to Hangar 7 this evening for a cake cutting and viewing of our new arrivals. Almost the entire midatlantic staff was there to view ..... for some of us... the culmination of almost 18 months of effort....especially the last 5-7 days worth.....16-18 hour workdays.

I'm not a pilot or flight attendant but I can appreciate fine craftsmanship and sleek, classic lines when I see them. My wife and I (yup wives and significant others were allowed in the hangar escorted) appreciated the chance to sit down in the single-class cabin, with the *new car* smell and a fine interior.

With galleys and lavs forward and aft along with very spacious seating, good sized overhead compartments....and guess what?....no stooping when entering the aircraft....this is definetly not your daddy's r.j.....

President Siegel and Vice President Bruce Ashby were among the throng of folks gathered in Hangar 7.....I know not of labor contracts, management disputes, etc....but we, as a company gotta do something to save this company....

As for me?.....let's test it, load it, put it on the line, fly it and start making some money because in the end.....that's what it's all about.
I beleive that's refered to the as "AI" hangar not hangar 7.

The tour on Embraer.com is a standard configuration with a first class cabin... There are also alot of photos on airliners.net. I'm eager to see how US has it decked out.

From what I've heard, it doesnt have the stripey gray seats that came with the Airways rebranding, instead it has a darker gray and I think leather. Not sure if they are that rounded shape shown on the demo on airliners.net. I do believe they have the adjustable headrests like on the A330, no IFE, and seat pitch similar to the former Shuttle planes. I know the ERJ family comes with a CD player for safety demo announcements and boarding music so I'd guess this does too? Someone said on here a few months ago that the galley equiptment is compatible with the A320/A330 family. The gallies on the website show coffee makers which means it has running water, and it looks like theres an airstairs built into it. Dont know about the carpeting or bulkheads...

This is all just stuff I've heard... maybe the guy who was on it could tell us a little more?

And for all the naysayers, sorry, some of us are curious as to what it looks like. We'll be working on it at the pay scales you folks signed off on so please dont direct any more negativity at us for being interested!

There are pictures of the interior at www.airliners.net. Just search for pictures of the Embraer 170. Don't know if they are Embraer's standard interior or our's - if there is a difference.

BB-

Absolutely- ever seen a demo A320? Nothing like ours!

Galley configuarions, seating configs and styles, lavatories, jumpseats, and overall branding (look and feel) vary by customer.

Heres another question. No smoking sign or PED sign?

This stuff is to F/As as a flight deck is to pilots. It seems silly, but we like to know these things. You should see a F/A from one airline fly on another airline... you'll see them comment on everything- "Double carts on an Airbus! Bizarre!" Even the smallest things...

What do the handsets look like? How do the call lights work? What do the chimes sound like? What are the jumpseat straps like- hopefully not the four way ones with the thing you have to turn! Does the lav have blue juice or a suction thing? (this is huge- quite a difference in odor as we spend alot of time strapped in inches from the lav)

A new toy is always fun. You know how it is! :D

Light,

I absolutely do know how it is. I guess the info on the details you mentioned will come in time. FWIW, the interior shot of the interior from the rear looking forward is new - wasn't there a couple of days ago. That doesn't mean it's our interior, though.
