I'm in my 6th year with AA. I started in the airline biz in 1985 and have been thru 2 failed companies.

Hey MiAAmi
How many years you got!
Don't lie Tell the truth!!!!!!
This is not Drama, this is LIFE.
Bet your Former Airline was not "Duped by AA" as TWA was.
It's all water under the bridge now.
The question is Will AA and the TWU do the right thing?

Duped by AA? Here come the conspiracy theories again! Do you really expect us to believe that AA wanted to waste millions of dollars on TWA only to have it fall apart like it has? One of our competitors is gone but we are in worse financial shape than before we squashed them. Doesn't make sense! Lets also throw in there 9/11, The Bush Economy, Sars, IRAQ. Do you really think that they would have even glanced at TWA had they even known that one of the above was on the horizon? AA employees were promised that this was going to be good for us too. We all have taken hits over the past year. Furloughs, Pay cuts etc etc etc. Your belly aching makes you look like a spoiled brat. In these times we are all lucky to be working.

Save it! There are lots of employees at AA that came from other airlines that went belly up. They all started at the bottom and know exactly what its like to get furloughed or even worse be without a company to come back to. I am one of those employees and I started at the bottom like everyone else. They did not give me seniority for my years at another airline and I didn't expect it. The TWA'ers got a better deal than most when the deal was done. No one knew what was on the horizon after the TWA purchase. I'm sorry that anyone is out on the street but spare us the drama, alot of us have been there already.

MiAAmi,
You are so afraid that somebody is going to get something that you didn't. Our situation is not anything like yours. We did not go belly up, out of buisness or whatever your airline did. We were not out on the street like you were when your company went under. Our Knight in shining aluminum came along remember? yeah right. When you apply for a differant company and are hired you should start at the bottom...Regardless of the eventual tragedies that occurred after the "aquisition" our situation is not like yours, so stop comparing. I'm sorry both of your companies went out of buisness...but the fact/bottom line is that mine didn't. What-if's doesn't matter...AA gave me a pair of gold wings which to most means more than 5 years seniority, I got pay and vacation according to my years of service, and a pretty 10 year pin which leads me to believe that my years of service were considered and recognized...at least by AA. I blame your union for putting me on the street. I isnt about DOH...a compromise could have been made had it even been considered.
