how can there be taxes on a ticket that's free?
WN has unlimited free domestic for employees, dependents, spouses, parents, kids through college. plus you can pretty much count on all the booze you want if you're nice to the cabin crew
also unlimited free international for those who are great swimmers....

As an express pilot who has worked for many (think CHQ) carriers heres my thoughts on this subject:
1) Delta offers a nonrev product that is far above the rest. Free upgrade to FC if seat is available. International taxes automatically deducted from paycheck. Large worldwide network. In addition buddy pass non-revs do not pay tax on fares. US buddy passes by comparison are much higher, because US adds tax to buddy passes. All this at no cost to employee. Online listing includes ability to see who and what seniority is traveling so one can choose what priority to travel on. Each employee gets additional priority upgrades they can use each year.
2) America West- Just a great company to work for. Everyone from the gate agent to the pilots go out of their way for you. Free travel including upgrade to FC at no cost employee.
3) US offers great product at no cost except upgrades to FC. Online listing. Downfalls are the requirements to prepay international taxes and upgrades. Buddy passes are available.
4) United offers unlimited travel except one pays a nominal fee based on mileage. Buddy passes available.
5) American is the same as United. Small fee per pass.

First, I'd like to thank US for how they treat employees on military leave (good and by the law) THANK YOU, except for no buddy passes and other airline passes (id-90's, id-95's,etc are not permitted (that's the only down fall)...How does AWA do their employees on military leave? buddy passes and interline discounts, zed? how are the flight being affected in the gulf coast tonight and tomorrow?

F9 employees, spouse, parents, kids through college fly free. You are authorized one significant other as a companion who flys unlimited at $55 RT. 24 buddy passes a year at $30 per segment $60 RT.

Unfortunately, military leave results in no buddy passes but all other flight benefits on AWA and other airlines stay the same. Other than the buddy pass thing everything is cool.
