Let me get this straight. You are saying you aren't convinced this will increase mainline jobs yet cried foul when DL replaced two DCI frequencies at MEM with additional mainline capacity? I doubt two flights even at MEM is significant in the context of man power planning. 10 additional mainline departures at BOS and LGA may enable some RRs to move up to FT perhaps.

Josh

may be the difference is just may be that there is more M/L employees in MEM than in LGA?????????

Josh-- If you can find anywhere in the latest MEM thread where I "cried foul," feel free to post it. Same goes for any proof this'll drive a net increase in AW or BW headcount at LGA...

Where is the employee benefit at LGA MATif DL is doing similar at SEa. U are truly a clueless Anti Worker Anti Union POS

are you two truly that dense or are you just intentionally combative?

If you can't see that moving 15 flights/day from work that is done by below wing subcontractors to what is done by DL mainline is an increase in work done by DL mainline personnel - not to speak of new jobs for FAs and pilots - then you truly don't WANT to see.

You argue for seeing more mainline personnel and then when the company reduces contract work and gives it to mainline employees you pretend you can't see it?

It's ok, though. DL employees have seen clearly that the company is doing what will help mainline employees and increase revenues for the company.

They also have consistently voted no for further unionization.

Assuming these will be handled by M/L employees, it's absolutely an increase in work (assuming no cuts elsewhere ex-LGA). That's never been up for debate. Whether or not it will result in a net increase in headcount is a separate piece, and is yet to be seen. First one to get definitive proof, please post...

it is indeed possible that DL will work these flights with existing employees at terminal C but it is a reduction in work done by contractors. I am certain that contractors are paid by the amount of flights handled.

Since LGA is slot controlled, DL has to operate flights to the FAA's requirements for slot usage or the slots will be lost.

The indications are that this is a net increase in seats from both LGA and BOS with the possibility that the flights will allow connections to other flights at terminal C/D

IM NOT DENSE NOR COMBATIVE.   Im simply stating that it would be wonderful if DL M/L employees worked all the mainline flights  even the 175/170s that are Shuttle   youre the one who is too dense to see the truth

then acknowledge that moving flights from contractors to mainline employees is ALWAYS an improvement.

No one said it was going to be handled by mainline or still a vendor.

They can have vendors working the dedicated flights.

This is a boneheaded move customer-service wise, causing extreme confusion on top of the confusion already as to where the shuttle flights operate. Countless times I've had to assist (as a non DL employee, wearing a different airline's uniform) business travelers in Terminal D wondering where gate SH3 is to ORD. Brava, DL.

Glad to see mainline aircraft returning, but it's a valid question on whether or not DL will be taking on the ground handling over at the MAT. Running a split operation ain't cheap, and as Ad says above, there's a point of diminishing returns when the customers can't figure out where their flight leaves from.

The moon could fall out of orbit too.

DL mainline employees work all flights in C/D including 100 or more regional carrier operated flights.

and yet DL has a higher share of the market than US does.

There are abundant signs in the terminal and on the roadways around LGA.

Would you like to tell us how different AA will be with their Shuttle flights in different terminals.. .and there isn't even room to move US flights to the CTB.

US would and does staff it with M/L folks.    and this is not about US at LGA    this is bout DL    And it would be welcome for DL M/L folks to have jobs should DL ever decide to have their own peeps working the mainline metal
